Lead/Senior AI Product Manager
SeedLegals is the leading provider of automated legal solutions for startups, with offices in London, New York and Paris. Since launching in 2016, we’ve supported over 75,000 startups who have collectively raised more than £2bn on our platform.
We’re a Series A company backed by Index Ventures, on a mission to make entrepreneurship more accessible and scalable.
Our values are key to our success; here at SeedLegals, we:
- Invest and trust in each other;
- Are committed to a growth mindset;
- Embrace diversity and cultivate inclusion;
- And are driven by customer success.
About the Role
We are looking for an AI-native, Senior or Lead Product Manager. You will own a substantial slice of the SeedLegals suite of products. You will juggle more than one stream at once, each at a different stage, each with its own team dependencies. You will set direction for them, build the case, sequence the work and then go and ship it.
You will work directly with the CPO and the founders, so decisions get made quickly and you will be in the room when they are. Your roadmap has to stand up to scrutiny, and be something engineering and commercial can both plan against.
We need someone who understands their role is about outcomes and growth, not just delivery. You will be measured on what changed in the market rather than what left the sprint. Activation, conversion, retention, revenue per customer: you will identify what needs to move, how to do it and then measure. Epics and stories good enough that engineering never has to guess. Releases that are tracked, measured and changed on the evidence.
We are looking for someone who is AI-native and hands on. It is a core part of the role rather than an extra. We need a product team that builds with AI directly: stories written with enough precision that a coding agent can implement them, and prototypes built with designers to define the "what" before engineering commits to the "how". We have product managers who are quick, curious and early in their careers. You will coach them on discovery, on making decisions and on the craft of a good story, whether or not they report to you.
About the Team
We are a small team, a short distance between an idea and a decision, and a lot of responsibility. You will learn more about UK startup law, funding and equity here than in most places, from people who know it properly. We expect energy, initiative, and the confidence to change your mind in front of other people.
This role is hybrid. As a minimum you’ll be expected to attend the office for team meetings, planning days and company meetings. (usually 2 or 3 times a month).
We are looking for:
You are someone who:
- Builds prototypes yourself with AI tooling, and uses them to settle questions that a document would take a fortnight to resolve.
- Is comfortable in the codebase: commits, pull requests, reading a diff, understanding what a change costs. You are not the engineer and you are not pretending to be, but you are not dependent on someone else to look either.
- Able to accept ideas from anywhere, using AI to experiment and speed up delivery
- Thinks in agents and connectors. We are working out what SeedLegals looks like when a founder's or an investor's own AI can reach our platform directly through MCP, and what has to be right on trust, state and permissions first. There is a substantial piece of that to own.
- Owns AI quality: eval sets, metrics, guardrails, and a clear view of where a model should not go near a legal document.
- Builds reusable agents and workflows that other people in the business adopt, so the benefit is not limited to your own hours.
The skills you will bring:
- AI-native with experimentation examples (which may have failed - that's OK!)
- Five or more years driving product with engineers and designers. You may come from any background but AI has been a governing force for you and you can implement workflows to optimise its use. We're looking to change how we work with AI helping drive those changes.
- You can operate at a senior level, with ownership of outcomes rather than output.
- You know your market in real detail: who the competitors are, what they charge, what they released last month, where they are weak, and what is changing in the rules. You form a view from it and you are willing to change that view.
- A track record of growth you can point to, and a clear account of what you did that caused it.
- You can carry several streams at once without dropping any. Roadmapping, sequencing, dependency management and prioritisation are strengths rather than admin you tolerate.
- You decide quickly. Research is how you reach a decision, not a substitute for making one.
- You tell a clear story. People leave your reviews knowing why the work matters and what will change because of it.
- You are commercially fluent: pricing, margin, retention and payback are your language, not only the finance team's.
- Coordinate across the business. Legal, commercial, support, marketing, data and engineering all have to move for anything here to work.
- You are hands-on with data. BI tools, some SQL, and enough modelling to build your own case without waiting in a queue.
- You are detailed where it counts. Edge cases, regulatory constraints and awkward states are found by you rather than by a customer.
- You make other product people better as a matter of instinct.
Helpful, not essential: experience in fintech, legaltech or regulated products; time in a startup; experience building for investors as well as operators.
