ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
We are looking for an experienced, professional and highly motivated Duty Security Manager to support the delivery of the security operation across Chelsea Football Club’s Stadium, Training Ground and associated facilities.
The Duty Security Manager will play a key leadership role in ensuring the Club maintains a safe, secure and welcoming environment for players, coaching staff, Club employees, supporters, visitors, contractors, officials, VIPs and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the security operation during their duty period, providing leadership and direction to Security Supervisors and Security Officers and ensuring that all security procedures, operational plans and Club standards are consistently delivered.
The role requires an individual who is confident making decisions, able to remain calm under pressure and capable of taking control of complex incidents and emergency situations.
The Duty Security Manager will work closely with the Head of Security, Security Management Team, Club Management, Matchday Operations, Facilities, Safeguarding, Football Operations and external stakeholders, including the Police and other emergency services.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, strong situational awareness, sound judgement and a proactive “can-do” attitude.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
· Take operational responsibility for the security operation during the allocated duty period.
· Provide effective leadership, direction and support to Security Supervisors and Security Officers.
· Ensure sufficient security resources are deployed appropriately across the Stadium, Training Ground and associated facilities.
· Conduct regular operational checks and patrols to ensure security standards are being maintained.
· Ensure all staff understand and comply with Assignment Instructions, risk assessments, policies, procedures and operational requirements.
· Maintain a strong security presence and ensure a professional standard of service is always delivered.
· Monitor changing risks and operational requirements and adjust security resources accordingly.
· Provide clear briefings and instructions to security personnel at the start of shifts and throughout the duty period where required.
· Ensure effective handovers are completed between shifts, including all outstanding incidents, risks, issues and operational requirements.
MATCHDAY & EVENT SECURITY
· Support the delivery of the Club's matchday and event security operation.
· Assist with the implementation of matchday security plans, operational orders, risk assessments and emergency procedures.
· Coordinate security resources before, during and after matches and events.
· Monitor crowd behaviour, access points, concourses, hospitality areas and other key locations.
· Ensure appropriate escalation and response to incidents involving supporters, including disorder, anti-social behaviour, medical incidents and safeguarding concerns.
· Work closely with Matchday Operations and other Club departments to ensure a coordinated and effective operation.
· Liaise with Police commanders, emergency services and other operational partners when required.
· Ensure post-match and event security arrangements are effectively managed until the site is secure and operational requirements have been completed.
TRAINING GROUND SECURITY
· Take operational responsibility for the security operation at the Chelsea Training Ground when allocated to the site.
· Ensure appropriate access control arrangements are maintained throughout the Training Ground.
· Protect players, coaching staff, Club employees, visitors and contractors by ensuring security procedures are consistently followed.
· Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality when working within the Training Ground environment.
· Ensure restricted and sensitive areas remain secure and accessible only to authorised personnel.
· Oversee the management of visitors, contractors, deliveries and vehicle movements.
· Ensure all unauthorised access attempts, suspicious activity or security concerns are immediately addressed and escalated.
· Support the security arrangements surrounding First Team, Academy and football operations.
· Ensure regular security patrols and checks are completed and any vulnerabilities are reported and managed.
· Coordinate the response to security incidents and emergencies occurring at the Training Ground.
INCIDENT & EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
· Take control and provide leadership during significant security incidents and emergencies.
· Assess situations quickly and make proportionate, informed decisions based on available information.
· Ensure agreed escalation procedures are followed, and appropriate management teams are notified.
· Coordinate the response of security personnel during incidents.
· Liaise with the Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service and other emergency agencies when required.
· Ensure incident scenes are appropriately managed and evidence is preserved where necessary.
· Ensure accurate and comprehensive incident reports are completed.
· Review security reports submitted by officers and supervisors and ensure any required actions are followed through.
· Identify recurring issues and trends and escalate these to the Security Management Team.
· Support investigations into security incidents, complaints and breaches of procedure.

• Effective communication with the Client, Soft service Manager, Security Shift Supervisor and Security
Essential
• A valid SIA Door supervision/CCTV license
• CCTV/Security control room experience.
Desirable
• Studium and training ground security experiences.
