Insight Analyst
Debenhams Group is one of the UK's most exciting retail transformation stories.
Over the past few years, we've evolved from a traditional online retailer into a technology-led marketplace business, powered by a proprietary platform, a growing ecosystem of brand partners and a portfolio of iconic consumer brands.
Today, Debenhams sits at the heart of the Group as Britain's Online Department Store, alongside boohoo, boohooMAN, PrettyLittleThing and Karen Millen. Together, we're building a more agile, scalable and profitable business focused on long-term growth.
This is an ambitious business undergoing significant change, and Finance plays a critical role in helping shape what comes next.
THE ROLE
As an Insight Analyst, you will support the Insights team in helping the business understand performance across our brands and functions. You’ll work alongside experienced analysts to gather data, run analysis, create reports, and support stakeholders in making informed, data-led decisions across customer, product and digital.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their analytics career who wants exposure to large datasets, business performance metrics, and cross-functional insight work. You’ll learn from a supportive team, work across multiple areas of the business, and develop both your technical and commercial skills as you grow.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Support with pulling and preparing data from a variety of sources (e.g. SQL, databases, dashboards, and reports).
- Assist in analysing trends in customer behaviour, business performance, and operational activity.
- Help produce clear, engaging reports and visualisations to share insights with stakeholders.
- Maintain and update performance metrics and dashboards used across the business.
- Work with stakeholders to understand their questions and help provide data-led answers.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for improvement across business performance, customer experience, and processes.
- Support the team with ad-hoc analysis across different brands, departments, and projects.
- Learn and apply best practices in analytics, data storytelling, and insight communication.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams including marketing, trading, finance, operations, and brand teams.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Some experience working with data (through university, a course, or a previous role).
- Basic knowledge of SQL and/or analytical tools (Python or R are a bonus, not essential).
- Comfortable working with numbers and identifying patterns or trends.
- Curious mindset with a willingness to explore data in detail.
- Ability to turn data into clear, understandable insights with support from the team.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Interest in business performance, analytics, or data-driven decision making.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
WHY JOIN DEBENHAMS GROUP?
2026 marks the next phase of our transformation journey.
We've stabilised the business, rebuilt the foundations and returned the Group to growth. Every brand is now profitable on an Adjusted EBITDA basis, our marketplace strategy continues to scale, and we're investing in the people, technology and capabilities that will drive our next chapter.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, challenge convention and help drive meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you.
Our focus now is around accelerating growth, scaling our marketplace ecosystem, driving operational excellence and building the future of Debenhams Group.
