General Manager - New Product
Who We Are:
At Omaze, we give our community in the UK and Germany the chance to win luxury homes and other life-changing prizes — all while raising money for the causes they love.
Thanks to our Omaze Community, we’ve raised over £150 million for UK charities in just five years. That’s millions helping organisations like Age UK, the RSPCA, British Heart Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity deliver life-saving work.
And the best part? We’re only just getting started. Omaze is building a business and culture committed to growth and creating significant social impact on a global scale.
🔑 The opportunity
Omaze is building a new consumer proposition for the UK market to take our prize draws and charitable impact to a whole new level.
We're looking for a General Manager to take end-to-end ownership of the proposition — from launch through to scale.
This is a true business-owner role. You'll own the P&L, strategy and performance of the proposition, bringing together Product, Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Operations, Analytics and other teams around a single set of outcomes.
Your job is to create clarity about what needs to happen, make the right commercial, customer and partner decisions, and ensure the organisation delivers against them with pace and a high bar for quality.
Initially, you'll take an emerging business model and turn it into something customers love and Omaze can operate successfully at scale. You'll work through the commercial, operational and customer complexities of launching something new, establish its economics and operating model, and build a roadmap for growth.
As the proposition develops, you'll be accountable for making it better every cycle: improving the customer experience, strengthening the economics, resolving operational friction, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring we learn quickly.
This is a rare role for someone who combines commercial judgement, product thinking, operational rigour and a strong bias towards action.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
Own the business
Own the strategy, P&L and overall performance of the proposition.
Develop a deep understanding of the economic drivers of the proposition and identify the highest-leverage opportunities to improve growth and profitability.
Set clear goals and KPIs and establish the weekly, monthly and quarterly operating rhythm required to manage the business.
Partner with finance to build and maintain the financial model, forecasts and operating plan for the business.
Make clear recommendations about investment, prioritisation and trade-offs.
Identify emerging risks and opportunities early and ensure the organisation acts on them.
Build and evolve the proposition
Own the end-to-end customer proposition and ensure we are solving a compelling customer problem.
Partner with Marketing to develop the go-to-market and customer growth strategy for the proposition.
Set the direction and priorities for the product roadmap in partnership with Product, Design and Engineering.
Maintain a high bar for the quality, simplicity and usability of the customer experience.
Ensure we ship quickly, learn from real customer behaviour and continually improve the proposition.
Combine customer insight, commercial performance and experimentation to determine what we build next.
Balance short-term delivery with the longer-term capabilities required to scale.
Lead across Omaze
Act as the single point of accountability for the proposition across the organisation.
Bring together teams across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Creative, Commercial, Operations, Legal, Finance and Analytics.
Create clarity around priorities, decisions, ownership and deadlines.
Resolve cross-functional blockers quickly and escalate where necessary.
Build trust with senior leaders by providing a clear, data-driven view of performance, risks and opportunities.
🤩 About You
This isn't a conventional functional leadership position. We're looking for someone who has previously operated as a business owner.
You'll probably have:
Significant experience owning and growing a consumer business, product line, category, market or marketplace.
Meaningful P&L ownership and strong financial and commercial fluency.
Experience launching or materially scaling a new product, proposition, category or business model.
Strong understanding of product development and the ability to make excellent product decisions without necessarily having spent your career in Product.
Experience working through complex commercial arrangements, partnerships or negotiations.
Strong operational instincts and experience turning complex or manual processes into scalable operating models.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand the few inputs that really drive a business.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including through influence rather than reporting lines.
A track record of operating effectively in ambiguity and making decisions with imperfect information.
Extremely high standards for customer experience and execution.
The ability to move comfortably between long-term strategy and detailed operational problem-solving.
🙌 What’s In It For You
Generous stock options scheme
25 days annual leave PLUS Bank Holidays
Private medical and dental insurance
9% employer pension contributions, when you contribute at least 2%
A generous personal learning and development budget each year to use on training courses, conferences and professional memberships
Enhanced family leave policies
Life assurance of 4x your salary
DEI Statement
We actively seek out diversity of thought and experience to drive innovation. We welcome all backgrounds, identities, and perspectives and work hard to ensure that every Omaze employee can bring their authentic self to work at all times.
