Your New Opportunity:

A fantastic permanent position has become available for a Senior Parts Advisor to join our Parts team. You'll be based in our Christchurch Branch in Hornby, where you'll support and advise internal customers (workshop) and external stakeholders (customers and dealers) on parts across our diverse range of premium brands to enable them to minimise downtime and maximise productivity. This is a full-time role reporting to the Parts Manager, working 45 hours per week Monday - Friday, and some Saturday mornings.

Specific Job Duties:

• Provide parts interpreting services & support to the Christchurch branch, the service and sales departments and to customers and dealers.
• Provide a regular flow of parts to the truck workshop and to a range of retail customers.
• Provide input into appropriate stock levels for all truck, trailer and bus parts.
• Assist the Parts Manager to develop and implement successful sales strategies.
• Provide active and ongoing mentoring, coaching and training to all members of the Christchurch Parts team.
• Respond positively to dealer and customer orders and ensure delivery in a timely manner.
• Increase and maximise all parts sales using up-selling and cross selling methods.
• Make phone contact with our customer base when requested to increase business and promote new products and deals.
• Build relationships with customers to ensure ongoing business and use of genuine and aftermarket parts.
• Monitor and keep informed of latest product developments and updates, using these to maximum advantage.
• Assist the Parts Manager in managing the Parts Department to meet all Penske stock management, freight, and internal audit requirements.
• Participate in regular stocktakes and assist the warehouse team with sea freight processing, inwards good receipting and core return processing.
• Demonstrate leadership and display positive behaviours to enable the Christchurch parts and service department to exceed customer satisfaction levels.

About You:

• Strong attention to detail, and a passion for customer service
• Previous parts experience, ideally in the automotive or heavy transport industries.
• Completed, working toward, or eager to complete a Certificate in Parts Interpretation (through MITO)
• Confident in picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders
• Able to prioritise tasks to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• High energy with the resilience to manage a fast-changing workload.
• Comfortable reading and interpreting parts catalogues
• Competent in MS Office
• Full car licence and Forklift endorsement is desirable.
