The company

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.

That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed.

We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

Your Mission

Your mission is to bring the right small businesses to Credit Compass - those who find genuine value in the product and come back to use it regularly. We’re looking for an Acquisition Lead to join our Credit Compass team. This is a London-based role and requires at least one day a week in the office.

We already have paid channels working well on Meta, Google and TikTok, so you won't be starting from scratch. Your job is to scale what's working, launch new channels from the ground up, and run a structured experimentation programme across paid, owned and partner channels. Together, these help us learn which audiences, messages and journeys find the businesses Credit Compass can help most.

The team is made up of 8 people across design, analytics, product and tech, you’ll report into the Credit Compass Lead. You’ll lead the acquisition function with scope to hire an additional team member in the short term. Working closely with product and data, you'll turn early signals into clear insights: who Credit Compass is for, the problem it solves best and how to reach those businesses efficiently. If it goes well, you'll build a growth engine with a clear path from 10,000 to 100,000 users within a year.

Responsibilities

Your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Scale our existing paid channels. Meta, Google and TikTok are already working - take them further by testing new audiences, creative and landing pages, and pushing efficient growth.

  • Launch new channels from scratch, across paid search and social, referrals, affiliates and partner distribution, with a focus on learning what scales and what doesn't.

  • Define the right customer segments for Credit Compass, designing and running experiments that reveal which businesses find long-term value and come back regularly.

  • Connect the right message to the right audience, writing and testing ad and landing-page copy, validating our messaging matrix and iterating based on real customer behaviour.

  • Improve conversion from existing demand, testing ways to turn low-performing organic pages and existing iwoca traffic into engaged Credit Compass users.

  • Build a test-and-learn growth engine: set clear hypotheses, run A/B tests, analyse results and turn insights into repeatable acquisition strategies.

  • Work closely with retention teams to feed learnings back into the product and help shape how Credit Compass evolves.

Requirements

  • 6 years plus experience in an acquisition or growth marketing role, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or new venture with a strong analytical culture.

  • Autonomous and execution-focused, able to define experiments, launch tests, and move work forward without waiting for perfect briefs or constant oversight.

  • Experimentation experience, including designing A/B tests, interpreting results, and making decisions in the presence of noisy or imperfect data.

  • Data-literate and numerate, comfortable reading dashboards, questioning results that don’t make sense, and using data to guide decisions (SQL not required).

  • Analytical mindset, with a preference for structured problem-solving over brand-led or purely creative marketing.

  • Hands-on copywriting ability, particularly for ads and landing pages, with a willingness to test, iterate, and discard what doesn’t work.

  • Motivated by building useful products for small businesses, and excited by the challenge of discovering who a product is for and how to reach them.

The salary

We expect to pay from £60,000 - £90,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

The culture

At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the development of our team members. We value thought and skill diversity, and encourage people to explore new areas of interest, adopt better tools – including AI – and apply sound judgement so our products and decisions improve over time.

The offices

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a great place to work:

  • Offices in London, Leeds, Berlin, and Frankfurt with plenty of drinks and snacks.

  • Events and community-led groups, including running groups, padel, and monthly ping-pong and pool competitions.

The benefits

  • Flexible working hours.

  • Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership.

  • A choice between a dedicated dental plan or a health cash plan that reimburses everyday medical expenses.

  • A private GP service (separate from Vitality) for you, your partner, and your dependents.

  • 25 days’ holiday per year, an extra day off for your birthday, the option to buy or sell an additional five days of annual leave, and unlimited unpaid leave.

  • A one-month, fully paid sabbatical after four years.

  • Instant access to external counselling and therapy sessions for team members that need emotional or mental health support.

  • 3% Pension contributions on total earnings.

  • An employee equity incentive scheme.

  • Generous parental leave and a nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.

  • Electric car scheme and cycle to work scheme.

  • Two company retreats a year: we’ve been to France, Italy, Spain, and further afield.

And to make sure we all keep learning, we offer:

  • A learning and development budget for everyone.

  • Company-wide talks with internal and external speakers.

  • Access to learning platforms like Treehouse.
