Cognition Education is seeking experienced education consultants and curriculum specialists to join our growing network of trusted education professionals.

About the opportunity
At Cognition Education, we partner with schools, kura, government agencies and education organisations to improve outcomes for learners. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are expanding our network of experienced consultants who are passionate about making a positive difference for learners, teachers and communities.
We welcome Expressions of Interest from experienced educators, curriculum specialists and resource developers who can bring their expertise to a range of current and future projects.
Current opportunities
Delivering high-quality professional learning and capability building for teachers and leaders working with Years 0–10 learners.
Supporting schools and kura to implement the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum and revised learning areas through practical and culturally responsive professional learning.
Developing high-quality curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning materials for Years 11–13 across a range of subjects and learning areas.
Working collaboratively with subject matter experts, education leaders and project teams to create useful, engaging and accessible learning experiences and resources.
Areas of expertise we are seeking
For Years 0–10 professional learning, we are particularly interested in consultants with expertise in:
- Science
- Social Sciences
- Technology
- Health and Physical Education
- The Arts
RequirementsWe are interested in hearing from professionals who have:
- Proven experience within the New Zealand education sector.
- Strong knowledge of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum, revised curricula and the pedagogical approaches that support effective implementation.
- A track record of strengthening teaching practice, building leadership capability or supporting improved learner outcomes.
- Subject or learning area expertise relevant to the opportunities outlined above.
- Experience developing curriculum, assessment, teaching or learning materials, particularly for those interested in Years 11–13 work.
- The ability to work collaboratively, respond constructively to feedback and meet agreed deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and a practical, adaptable approach.
