About the role
We are seeking a Head Chef who will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations in Monarto Safari Resort. This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who can lead a busy kitchen operation while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and team performance.
The Head Chef is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food production, compliance, and hygiene. This role requires a strong focus on quality control to guarantee exceptional dining experiences and meticulous preparation and execution of the menu
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead daily kitchen operations across multiple services
- Manage, train and develop the kitchen team
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Manage ordering, stock control, food costs and waste
- Support menu development and seasonal changes
- Ensure food safety, hygiene and WHS compliance
- Work closely with FOH to deliver an exceptional guest experience
- Manage kitchen organisation, preparation and service standards
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Good understanding of food and labour costs
- Passionate about quality food and team development
- Calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on leadership style and a positive attitude
