About the team 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Buying Assistant on our Home department. You’ll report to a Junior Buyer on the area, and there will be lots of opportunity to further develop your skills and progress in role.   

You will joining a collaborative and fast-paced buying team where ideas are valued and initiative is encouraged.  Good communication skills are imperative as you support the team in bringing exciting products to market, managing supplier information, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.   You'll gain insight into product selections / development, supplier relationships and pricing while developing the organisational skills, commercial knowledge and experience, all of which are essential for a successful career in buying.  

About the role 

Day to day you will have an understanding of the category critical path and supply chain, whilst undertaking administrative support for the buying function. 

The skills and behaviours key to being a successful BA candidate here at The Very Group are; commercially aware, able to build relationships and methodical, passionate, strong communication skills, can demonstrate initiative, enjoys problem solving and interpreting data and you must have excellent attention to detail.

  • A good communicator across all levels. 
  • Proficient in Excel.

1st stage - A one-hour formal face-to-face interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions, alongside a SWOT analysis task to assess your market knowledge, customer and product trend awareness.
