Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Fund Accountant with private markets experience to support the day-to-day administration of venture capital, private equity and other alternative investment funds.

You will work across fund accounting, capital activity, investor reporting and client support, collaborating with fund managers, investors, auditors and internal teams to deliver accurate reporting and a high-quality client experience.

You are organised, detail-oriented and curious about the reasons behind discrepancies and unusual transactions. You take responsibility for resolving issues, communicate clearly and bring a practical, client-focused approach to your work. You are also comfortable collaborating across teams in a growing, evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

• Fund accounting and NAV reporting: Prepare NAVs, financial reports, fee calculations and reconciliations, process fund transactions, and support financial statements and audits.
• Capital activity oversight: Review capital calls, distributions and investor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and support equalisation, compensatory interest and subsequent closes.
• Investor reporting: Validate investor data and reports, resolve investor and fund manager queries, and support annual investor tax reporting.
• Fund onboarding and private markets operations: Support fund launches, onboarding and migrations, establish workflows, and maintain investment records and performance reporting.

Success Metrics

In the first month, you will have built strong working relationships with your immediate team and the broader GXE team as well as key client stakeholders. You will understand GXE’s fund accounting workflows, client base, reporting requirements and current operational challenges.

Over time, success will be measured by your ability to own the end-to-end accounting and reporting requirements for a portfolio of private markets funds with minimal supervision. Investor reporting, capital activity and fund-level financial records will be accurate, complete and delivered on time.

You will confidently review and validate complex private markets transactions, including subsequent closes, equalisation adjustments and compensatory interest calculations. Fund managers will regard you as a trusted operational partner throughout onboarding and ongoing administration.

You will also contribute to GXE’s ability to scale by improving processes, strengthening controls and reducing operational risk. These are the overall success outcomes specified in the JD; their allocation to particular milestones needs agreement.

The team

You will report to our Senior Fund Accountant

You will work closely with fund managers, investors, auditors, the Investor Support Team, Client Operations, other GXE team members and GXE’s external accounting advisor.

You have

• 3–6 years’ experience in fund accounting, fund administration or alternative investment operations, including experience with venture capital, private equity, private credit or infrastructure investment funds.
• Strong fund accounting knowledge, including reconciliations and financial reporting, with experience preparing or reviewing NAV calculations.
• Experience reviewing capital activity, including capital calls, distributions and investor capital accounts.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, reconciliations and analytical workpapers, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an organised approach to deadlines, reporting cycles and client deliverables.
• Experience with ESVCLP, VCLP or limited partnership structures, private markets fund administration platforms, and fund onboarding or migration projects would be valuable. Familiarity with TVPI, DPI, RVPI and IRR reporting is also desirable.
• CA, CPA or an equivalent qualification, and exposure to audit processes and annual financial statement preparation, would be advantageous.
