Team Lead - Veterinary Laboratory Scientist

Due to growth and innovation, IDEXX is currently seeking a Team Lead to join our Core Laboratory in Hamilton, New Zealand. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supervising the team, supporting training, quality management, complaints handling, stock take, routine diagnostic testing, and reporting. You will also drive continuous improvement while supporting Patient Sample Management.

In this hybrid, hands-on leadership role, you will manage day-to-day laboratory operations while coaching, mentoring, and developing your team.

What you need to succeed

  • You hold a Bachelor of Medical Science or an equivalent degree.

  • You have strong experience working in a haematology and biochemistry diagnostic laboratory.

  • You have demonstrated experience training and coaching others, with proven leadership capability.

  • You understand IANZ and ISO 17025 standards.

  • You are comfortable working full-time hours across Monday to Saturday.

  • You can operate efficiently in a commercial laboratory environment and consistently meet tight turnaround times.

  • You are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.

  • You have excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.

  • You are committed to IDEXX values, with a diligent approach to quality systems and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
