OneStaff is currently seeking experienced and reliable Construction Workers to support a range of residential, commercial, and civil construction projects across New Zealand.
This role is suited to candidates who have gained hands-on experience across multiple construction environments and are looking for consistent work with opportunities to further develop their skills within the industry.
About the Role
As a Construction Worker, you will work alongside qualified tradespeople and site teams, assisting with a variety of construction activities including:
- General building and construction work
- Assisting builders, carpenters, and site teams
- Supporting a range of construction activities across residential, commercial, and civil projects
- Site preparation, clean-up, and material handling
- Operating hand and power tools
- Loading and unloading construction materials
- Following site plans and instructions
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
- Assisting with groundwork, formwork preparation, and general site support
- Supporting construction teams with a variety of duties as directed by supervisors
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 12 months' hands-on experience within the construction industry
- Experience working across one or more construction environments, including:
- Building and Carpentry
- Residential Construction
- Commercial Construction
- Civil Construction
- Finishing Trades
- General Site Operations
- Good physical fitness and the ability to perform hands-on construction work
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- The ability to work well within a team environment
- A commitment to health and safety on-site
- A willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople
- Good communication and time management skills
- A Full Class 1 Driver Licence (preferred)
- Own basic hand tools suitable for construction work (preferred)
Flexibility & Travel Requirements
Due to the nature of the projects, successful candidates must be flexible and available to work across various locations throughout New Zealand. This may involve travel and periods working away from home.

- Auckland
- Waikato
- Bay of Plenty
- Gisborne
- Hawke's Bay
- Taranaki
- Manawatu-Whanganui
- Wellington
- Nelson-Tasman
- Marlborough
- Canterbury
- West Coast
- Otago
- Southland
Applicants should be:
- Available to work on projects throughout New Zealand as required
- Willing to travel and stay away from home for short-term or extended assignments
- Flexible with work locations, hours, and project requirements
- Able to mobilise to different sites at short notice when required
Pre-Employment Requirements
Successful applicants must be able to:
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Obtain a satisfactory Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check
- Provide recent work references
- Demonstrate the legal right to work in New Zealand
