Civil Engineering Draftsperson
Macc Homes Victoria Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our growing team. The successful candidate will support Civil Engineers and Engineering Technologists by preparing detailed technical drawings, plans, and documentation for a range of civil engineering projects while ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed sketches, drawings, plans, charts, tabulations, and designs for civil engineering works, including:
- Drainage systems
- Water supply and sewerage reticulation systems
- Other civil engineering structures
- Perform and assist with fieldwork and laboratory testing.
- Interpret work instructions, apply appropriate engineering procedures, and select suitable equipment.
- Collect, analyse, and process engineering data and carry out technical computations.
- Estimate material quantities and costs while ensuring completed works comply with specifications, regulations, and contract requirements.
- Inspect civil engineering projects and assist in organising and supervising maintenance and repair activities.
- Conduct field and laboratory testing of construction materials and soils.
- Collect and analyse data for traffic surveys and other engineering investigations.
- Work closely with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience preparing civil engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of Australian engineering standards and construction practices is desirable.
- Registration or licensing may be required where applicable.
