As a Fibre Technician you will require a broad range of skills and abilities to ensure Fibre Installation work is carried out to industry and company standards.


As a Fibre Technician, you will be responsible for the following:
• Fibre installations including cabling and fusion splicing in domestic and commercial properties and build sites including using blowing equipment (compressor, air gun, fibre gun (for 2F, 6F, 12F, 24F).
• Activate, test and troubleshoot services, diagnosing and resolving network faults to ensure optimal network functionality.
• Competently undertake civil installation methodologies including fenceline; slot-cut, hard trench, soft trench and making boundary cuts.
• Correctly uses machinery and equipment including concrete cutter, terrasaw, machine trencher.
• Works underfloor, in ceilings, at height and undertakes manual physical work tasks.
• Scope, install, surveying and accurately read and interpret plans.
• Provides excellent customer service and expertise to ensure a positive experience for clients.
• Carrying out and performing all duties in accordance with industry and company standards, policies and procedures.
This role requires a balance of working independently and collaborating with a dynamic team to get the job done right. Weekend availability essential and willingness to complete night work.


To be successful in this role you will have:
• Minimum 2-3 years Fibre Technician experience
• New Zealand Class 1 Full Drivers Licence
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking the following duties – underfloor and ceiling installation work; manually digging, potholing, carrying reasonable loads and other physical tasks.
• Proven experience using applicable machinery and equipment and installing up to 24F.
• Wheels, Tracks and Rollers and Class 2 are preferred but not essential.
• Strong logic, planning and problem-solving ability.
• Strong work ethic, maintaining personal accountability for output.
• Respect for others and highly reliable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
