About the Role
At Skyline Victoria Pty LtdWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Cabler (Data and Telecommunications) to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for installing, connecting, configuring, testing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications and data cabling systems across a range of client sites. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to diagnose and resolve cabling and network issues efficiently.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine drawings, specifications, and work areas to determine the positioning and connections required for telecommunications and data equipment.
- Install cabling for telephone, radio, pay TV, computer transmission, and data communication systems.
- Join cables and seal cable sheaths using lead, thermoplastic, and other approved methods.
- Install and connect cables to distribution frames, cabinets, patch panels, and other telecommunications equipment.
- Identify, locate, diagnose, and rectify faults in data and telecommunications cable installations.
- Set up, configure, and test data communication systems, local area networks (LANs), and wireless communication networks.
Skills and Qualifications
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV.
- Demonstrated experience in telecommunications and data cabling installations.
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and network diagrams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
- At least One Year of relevant experience.
