- Pay Range: $91,000 - $107,788 per annum

What is the role?
Reporting to the Head of Events, the AV Operations Manager leads the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of AV services across Bay Venues events. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of Bay AV operations, technical staff, contractors, customer relationships, budgets and AV assets, ensuring events are delivered on time, on budget and to an exceptional standard. The AV Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in fostering a strong health and safety culture while driving continuous improvement across the business.
What does an average day look like?
- Lead the safe, efficient and successful delivery of AV services across a diverse range of events and venues.
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching and support to our talented technical team, helping them deliver exceptional event experiences.
- Coordinate technicians, contractors and production resources to ensure events are delivered safely, on time and to customer expectations.
- Champion health and safety, ensuring compliance, safe work practices, contractor management and event safety plans are at the forefront of everything we do.
- Manage team rostering, capability development, training and performance to build a high-performing technical team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and venue stakeholders.
- Oversee AV budgets, forecasting and capital planning while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Manage AV assets, inventory, maintenance and equipment lifecycle planning to ensure reliability and readiness for events.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across systems, processes and service delivery.
About You
You’re an experienced AV or event technology professional who enjoys leading people, solving problems and delivering outstanding event experiences. You are equally comfortable leading from the front during event delivery as you are managing budgets, planning resources and developing your team.
- Extensive industry experience in Audio Visual, Production, Events or Entertainment Technology.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing technical teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- High-level technical competency in Audio, Lighting, Audio Visual, LED or related event technology disciplines.
- Strong health and safety leadership, including experience with contractor management, safe systems of work and event risk management.
- Experience managing multiple events, competing priorities and operational resources.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs and operational performance.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A current New Zealand Driver Licence.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, when required.
