Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Retail / Hospital Pharmacist to join our professional pharmacy team.

About the Role

As a Retail / Hospital Pharmacist, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and patient-focused pharmaceutical services. You will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing professional clinical advice, counselling patients on the safe use of medicines and supporting healthcare outcomes through collaboration with medical practitioners, healthcare professionals and pharmacy staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with legislative and professional pharmacy standards.
• Review prescriptions to ensure the safe, appropriate and effective use of medicines.
• Provide professional counselling to patients regarding prescribed medications, dosage instructions, potential side effects and drug interactions.
• Conduct medication reviews and support medication management programs.
• Provide immunisation and vaccination services where appropriately accredited.
• Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure confidentiality of health information.
• Collaborate with medical practitioners and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care.
• Monitor medication safety, identify potential prescribing issues and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Supervise and support pharmacy assistants, dispensary technicians and intern pharmacists.
• Maintain inventory levels, manage pharmaceutical stock and ensure compliance with storage requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Board of Australia requirements, relevant legislation and professional practice standards.
• Participate in health promotion activities and provide advice on over-the-counter medicines, minor ailments and preventative healthcare.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or an equivalent recognised pharmacy qualification.
• Current General Registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated experience as a Retail Pharmacist, Hospital Pharmacist or Community Pharmacist.
• Strong clinical knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medication management and therapeutic guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience using pharmacy dispensing and medication management software is highly regarded.
