Senior People Partner - APAC
About the team and role:
- Our People Partner role is not only the face of people solutions to our business teams, but also a problem solver and enabler to our people managers. This role is business-facing, sitting between our People Services teams that provide HR policy support, awareness/consumption, and People Business Partners who focus on people strategy. The incumbent will provide consultative support dedicated to the day-to-day experience of Employees & Managers. The person in this role will be an integral part of the People Partnering team and will work cross-functionally to help us drive an amazing Rubrikan experience and manager enablement at scale. In this role, you will collaborate with various client groups across HR.
- In this role, you will serve as the dedicated People Partner for our Go-to-Market (GTM) teams across APJ, while collaborating closely with central People teams in India, EMEA, and the USA. This is an internationally-facing role that requires regular cross-timezone engagement and a strong understanding of the APJ employment landscape.
- Your primary responsibilities will involve providing comprehensive HR services and managing various processes and programs on a global scale. These include but are not limited to Manager coaching on people matters, employee relations/ workplace concerns, Performance management, complex people policy-related scenarios, and Change management at the individual team level.
What you'll do:
- Be the face of People for your Business Leaders — Own the end-to-end people partner experience for our Go-to-Market teams across APJ, collaborating across time zones with central People teams in India, EMEA, and the USA. Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor, delivering consistent, locally-informed HR support at speed.
- Coach managers through what matters most — Provide hands-on coaching and consultation on org health, employee engagement, performance management, ER investigations, and complex people scenarios — from remote and shift work to cross-cultural dynamics — bringing clarity and sound judgment to every situation.
- Build a stronger manager community — Independently design and deliver end-to-end manager development initiatives, using structured engagement models to identify gaps, build capability, and actively support the manager community at scale.
- Lead the moments that matter — Partner with People Business Partners to take an active lead on annual people cycles — performance reviews, talent reviews, comp planning, succession, and engagement initiatives — across multiple business units and geographies.
- Be an AI-era People Partner — Proactively identify, design, and operationalize AI-enabled tools, workflows, and programs that modernize HR delivery and keep Rubrik ahead of the curve in how people work and how HR operates.
- Scale through smart partnerships — Collaborate across COEs (Compensation, Talent Acquisition, T&D, DEI, People Operations) and People Services to drive process improvements, spot work that can be transitioned for scale and efficiency, and continuously raise the bar on manager enablement.
- Solve hard problems and manage risk — Navigate ambiguous people policy situations with sound judgment and strong communication. Proactively identify and mitigate HR-related risks, ensuring compliance with local policies and legal requirements across APJ markets.
Experience you’ll need:
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience
- Hands-on ER and case management experience in APJ markets (e.g. Japan, Singapore, Australia), with working knowledge of local labor law and employment regulations in these countries.
- Experience navigating a global team environment and schedules, and building virtual relationships. Ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships with internal customers, peers, and effectively manage those relationships
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and change in a dynamic business environment and with exposure to global matrixed organisations
- Strong plus: Experience designing and operationalizing AI-enabled solutions for People/HR functions, including but not limited to tools, workflows, or programs that improve HR service delivery and manager enablement.
