Founding Mobile Developer - Dublin
About Seapoint
Seapoint is building the financial home for European startups and scale-ups. We're an AI-powered business account that handles everything from payroll and expenses to invoice payments and reporting, all in one place.
Founded by Sean Mullaney (former European CIO at Stripe) and a team of alumni from Stripe, Google, Wise, Wayflyer, Nubank and Tide, we've raised €10M in funding led by 13books Capital and Frontline Ventures, with 40+ angel investors from across Europe's startup ecosystem. 80+ startups now run their finances on Seapoint.
The problem we're solving is real: European startups are stuck between neobanks (too small) and traditional corporate banking (too big). They're juggling 4-6 different financial products, running processes manually, and earning no interest on cash deposits. We're changing that with AI automation that handles the tedious financial work, so founders can focus on building their businesses instead of managing spreadsheets.

About the role
You'll be our first mobile engineer, building the Seapoint app from the ground up. Founders check their finances constantly — on the train, between meetings, at midnight before a board presentation. We need a mobile experience that makes managing business finances feel as natural as checking a personal banking app, but with the power of an AI-first financial platform behind it.
This is a founding role. You won't inherit a codebase — you'll choose the architecture, set the patterns, and ship the first version that puts Seapoint in founders' pockets.
Build the app from scratch: Choose the right cross-platform or native approach, set up the architecture, and ship a mobile app that connects to our existing platform. You'll work closely with our design and backend teams to bring the financial experience to mobile.
Real-time financial data: Surface account balances, transactions, payment approvals, and AI-generated insights in a mobile-first experience.
Push notifications and approvals: Build the notification layer that keeps founders informed - pending payments to approve, bills to pay flagged by AI, cash flow alerts. Turn the phone into a financial control centre.
Biometric security and authentication: Implement secure mobile authentication that meets the bar for a financial product and complies with SCA and PSD/2.
AI-powered interactions: Bring our AI features to mobile - think conversational financial queries, smart transaction categorisation, and invoice capture via the camera.
- 5+ years of professional mobile development experience
- Strong experience with React Native or native iOS/Android development (we're open to the right approach)
- Track record of shipping mobile apps to production - ideally consumer-facing products with high reliability expectations
- Understanding of mobile-specific concerns: offline support, performance, push notifications, background tasks, app store submissions
- Eye for detail - you care about smooth animations, responsive layouts, and the small interactions that make an app feel polished
- Strong sense of ownership
Nice to have: experience building fintech or banking apps, familiarity with TypeScript, experience with biometric authentication or secure storage on mobile.
- Competitive salary with meaningful equity in a fast-growing fintech startup
- Work directly with experienced founders and engineers from Stripe, Tide, Wise, Nubank, Wayflyer and other fintech unicorns
- Front-row seat to building category-defining financial infrastructure for Europe's startup ecosystem
- Flexible hybrid working from our Dublin base
- Learning and development opportunities in fintech and AI
