We’re looking for a Traffic Signals Electrician to join our Canterbury team, installing, maintaining and fault-finding on traffic signals and ITS equipment across the region. It’s practical, varied work with real impact, and like most good roles here, you’ll be trusted to get stuck in, bring ideas and do good work with good people.

This role covers a mix of planned maintenance, repairs and installation work across live sites. Most work sits within a standard Monday to Friday week, but flexibility matters as some jobs will involve weekend work, night shifts and an on-call roster. When the job calls for it, we switch on and deliver to a high standard.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair traffic signals, CCTV, VMS, UPS and other ITS equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out reliability maintenance to keep networks running safely and efficiently.
  • Authorise and certify prescribed electrical work in line with registration requirements.
  • Follow Fulton Hogan’s health, safety and quality standards on every site.
  • Work with your team and customers to deliver reliable outcomes, on time and to a high standard.

  • Full Electrical Registration.
  • Experience in traffic signals and ITS equipment, or strong electrical experience and the willingness to learn.
  • A sharp eye for fault finding and a strong focus on reliability maintenance.
  • A Full Class 1 Driver Licence.
  • A positive, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to safety, teamwork and doing the job right.
