At the heart of everything we do is our vision to change lives every day, and our mission to grow The National Lottery responsibly and champion its impact.

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence across the USA (Michigan and Illinois) and Europe, including Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Cyprus and Italy.

While the main contribution of The National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do.  Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, largescale transformation journey by creating a National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

We’ll talk a bit more about us further down the page, but for now – let’s talk about the role and who we’re looking for…

A bit about the role

As a Product Designer you’ll be involved in all stages of the product design process, from absorbing business challenges and player pain points to researching, designing, testing and iterating on high quality design concepts across our web, app and digital retail channels.

Working collaboratively as part of a passionate team, you’ll put our players at the heart of everything we do to explore and create amazing player experiences that are bulletproof based on player insights/data as well as being rigorously tested.

You will be working closely within an established product design and content team to deliver an expansive and varied level of work which spans every part of the National Lottery brand. The product design team sits within the wider Digital Foundry team and you’ll be working with the likes of product management, BAs, developers and delivery managers on a regular day to day basis

What you’ll be doing

  • Create and communicate bulletproof design concepts through sketches, player flows, wireframes and prototypes.
  • Perform your own qualitative and quantitative research studies to build a greater understanding of player behaviours, attitudes and pain points. Produce journey maps and player flows to translate the touchpoints and processes and identify opportunities for our digital roadmaps.
  • Validate ideas, sketches and designs through player research and player testing.
  • Produce high-fidelity UI and motion designs to articulate functionality and interactions.
  • Facilitate, own and participate in discovery/design workshops to explore ideas in a collaborative way.
  • Partner with Product Managers to update and share new insights and opportunities.
  • Work closely with development teams to bring designs to life and come up with bulletproof solutions against technical constraints.
  • Be a champion for commercial success during and at the end of design cycles for the positive impacts we have on player experiences.
  • Champion our design systems in your work to ensure it can scale effectively

What experience we’re looking for

 Essential:

  • A seasoned product design professional with great B2C experience, with an amazing portfolio that showcases your work.
  • Highly visible, collaborative and able to convey design challenges, updates from early ideation to final end product walkthroughs.
  • Curious and confident, you are a champion of our players and what’s right for their experiences.
  • Cover the entire product design lifecycle. Able to perform qualitative and quantitative research that translates into ideas just as confidently as wireframing, discussing design patterns, iconography, typography and producing player testing-ready prototypes as well as information architecture… and how these skills impact on creating the best possible experiences for our players
  • Love working in an environment where attention to detail breeds amazing end solutions.
  • Thrive in making a difference to multiple KPIs that are not just conversion but also healthy play and welfare.
  • Enjoy mentoring and helping other product designers be the best they can.
  • A great communicator that’s comfortable leading sessions and presenting in front to stakeholders from junior members of the team to directors.
  • Passionate about player-centred principles. You champion that player is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Worked on digital products for both web and native apps within a B2C environment.
  • Experience working in cross functional teams on digital products and services in a fluid/agency style nature - we don’t silo our designers into certain areas of the overall experience.
  • Master of Figma.

About us

At Allwyn, we are dedicated to changing lives and growing the National Lottery responsibly, championing its positive impact on people, places, and the planet.

  • Innovation - We pride ourselves on it! We’re constantly looking for new ways to excite our customers, bringing new products to market to enjoy which is all supported by our responsible play values and making them accessible to all.
  • Giving back – Did you know that playing the lottery generates around £30m a week for charities and good causes in the UK? Our aim is to have doubled this number by the end of the first 10-year license.
  • Sustainability – Our aim is to become a net zero national lottery. We have 2030 targets to decarbonise our operations and energy. We’ve already transitioned to renewable energy providers, made our London and Watford offices zero gas, and ensured our fleet consists of low-emission vehicles. In addition, we’re working with our value chain partners to develop a net zero target date.
  • Empowering every voice – We believe in creating a culture where everyone feels they belong, can be themselves, has access to opportunities and can thrive for the benefit of good causes.  Our diverse teams are working hard to make all parts of The National Lottery inclusive – whether people play a game in a store or online, because when everyone can play, everyone wins..

An inclusive reward offering with wellbeing at the centre

At Allwyn, inclusion is built into how we care for our people. Our benefits and policies support colleagues and their families at every stage of life and career. By prioritising wellbeing and belonging, we create a workplace where everyone feels valued, rewarded, and empowered to succeed. Our people are more than colleagues - they’re winners, driving positive change and making a real difference in communities.
