Senior Graphic Designer - RuneFest
Location: Cambridge, UK – This position offers flexible working options, including predominantly remote work. Applicants should be based (or willing to relocate) within a comfortable commuting distance of our office to attend onsite as required.
This is a 6 month fixed term contract.
Are you a senior designer with strong illustrative skills and the ability to hit the ground running on a high-profile live event?
RuneFest is our flagship community event - a major live celebration featuring keynotes and product reveals across RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and DragonWilds. As Senior Graphic Designer, you’ll be creating the visual world of that event from the ground up: branding and illustrated logos, print materials, livestream graphics, trading cards, social assets, and content that will live on beyond the event itself – some of it debuting at RuneFest before appearing in-game.
This is fast-paced, high-volume work with real visibility. You’ll be embedded in a team of experienced, self-sufficient designers, working directly with the Art Director and managing your own output with minimal hand-holding. If you thrive under pressure, take direction well, and have a portfolio that shows genuine illustrative craft - we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Create and iterate on branding and visual identity assets for RuneFest, including illustrated logos, event branding, and assets that will transition from the event into the games themselves.
- Design and produce print materials across small- and large-format applications – banners, booklets, trading cards, signage, wayfinding, and environmental graphics – prepared to production-ready standard.
- Develop livestream graphics, keynote panel assets, and stage content for use across RuneFest’s live programming.
- Create post-event content and social media advertising visuals, managing assets across multiple concurrent use cases with strong organisation and file hygiene.
- Collaborate with illustrators to integrate commissioned artwork into final designs, and handle image retouching, compositing, and asset preparation as needed.
- Participate in feedback sessions and art direction reviews, iterating on deliverables efficiently without requiring heavy management.
What we’re looking for:
- A strong portfolio demonstrating senior-level graphic design work with genuine illustrative craft – complex illustrated logos, mini-illustrations, or textured visual assets are a must. No AI-generated imagery.
- Proven branding and visual identity design experience, including the ability to create original, illustrated logos and develop cohesive brand systems.
- Solid print production knowledge - large-format design, file setup, colour management, and the difference between print and digital preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of assets across multiple formats (print, digital, streaming, social) simultaneously, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and at pace, taking direction from an Art Director and iterating quickly without needing close supervision.
- Experience in events, gaming, or entertainment is a plus - but a strong portfolio and the right working style will always matter more than background.
