VP of Financial Analytics - The Edge Partnership

We are currently partnering with a leading international investment bank, to hire a strategic finance and data analytics role that combines financial planning and analysis, business intelligence, and data transformation to support informed decision-making across the organization. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will partner with stakeholders to deliver meaningful financial insights, develop analytical models and dashboards, and enhance reporting capabilities that drive business performance and operational efficiency.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and strengthen data and analytics capabilities by improving data quality, governance, and automation while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing scalable data foundations, advancing analytical frameworks, and leveraging emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance business insights and future-ready finance capabilities.

This role will be responsible for the following:

1. Partner with the Team Lead to develop financial models, performance dashboards, and analytical insights that support business reviews, executive reporting, strategic decision-making, and cost optimization initiatives.
2. Lead and provide analytical support for budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management processes to drive informed business decisions.
3. Enhance data infrastructure, governance, and quality by designing integrated data solutions, implementing robust controls, and establishing standardized data management practices.
4. Drive data quality and reporting excellence through validation frameworks, reconciliation processes, exception monitoring, and comprehensive documentation of data sources and analytical methodologies.
5. Improve operational efficiency by automating and streamlining month-end reporting processes, reducing manual effort, and optimizing finance workflows.
6. Collaborate with IT to evaluate, enhance, and scale AI proof-of-concept initiatives into sustainable business solutions while advancing the organization's data analytics and AI capabilities.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics, or a related discipline,
2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, business intelligence, or analytics, preferably within investment banking, or the broader financial services industry.
3. Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modelling, and management reporting, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable business insights.
4. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and advanced Power BI capabilities, including data modelling, DAX, dashboard development, and Power BI Service administration.
5. Strong technical skills in SQL and Python or R, with experience using automation and data preparation tools such as Power Automate, Alteryx, or similar platforms.
6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a solid understanding of data visualization, data storytelling, and emerging AI/ML technologies.
