Supporter Relationship Manager

Contract type: Permanent, Full Time – 35 hours per week

Location: London, UK
UK hybrid working – a minimum of 40 % of working time is spent face-to-face (London office, external meetings or travel). 60/40 hybrid working at WaterAid means roughly three days wherever you work best and two days together in person.

Salary: £47,423 per year with excellent benefits

About the team

While based in the Legacy and In Memory Team, the role will work with teams across the Mass Engagement Department, including Supporter Marketing and Community, Events and Education. The department is responsible for engaging and growing income and support from a range of audiences including legacy supporters, high value givers and volunteers.

 

About the role

As our Supporter Relationship Manager, you will create meaningful moments of connection for key supporters to deepen their commitment and work closely with key teams across the Mass Engagement Department to drive excellence in supporter experience and long-term income growth.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver exceptional personalised stewardship and build trusted relationships with key high-value supporters including legacy and mid-value supporters
  • Develop and deliver a key supporter experience strategy, including in person and online thank you events and connection moments.
  • Collaborate across teams to embed legacy giving conversations and create opportunities for blended giving conversations on lifetime and legacy giving.
  • Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience of building and managing meaningful relationships with supporters or customers in a fundraising or relationship management setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences and build trust
  • Experience of creating and delivering a supporter experience strategy to deepen trust and commitment
  • Experience of working with different stakeholders to spot cross organisation income opportunities and implement news ways of working

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

  • Experience of working with legacy supporters and having legacy conversations
  • Experience of working within a mid-value or high-value giving programme
  • Experience in public speaking and giving presentations

Pre‑employment screening

As part of our annual leave policy, all employees receive three additional days of annual leave on top of their standard allocation of 25 days. These days are designated to cover the period when our UK office closes at the end of the calendar year, allowing all UK WaterAiders to take a well-deserved break.

These days are automatically scheduled and cannot be changed or moved. Annual leave is accrued based on your start date. If sufficient leave has not been accrued by the time of the closure, the 3 days will be taken as unpaid leave or pro-rated, depending on your circumstances.
