Job description

Mayflower is a technology company building large-scale entertainment products for a global audience. Our platforms serve millions of users worldwide and rank among the top-50 most visited websites globally. For more than 10 years, we've been creating reliable, high-performance solutions at the intersection of product, engineering, and entertainment.

We’re looking for a Design System Designer to contribute to the evolution of our design system across product and engineering.

The role combines systems thinking with hands-on design of design system components — working within the UI kit and design system context to define, refine, and maintain reusable UI elements (inputs, controls, patterns), in close collaboration with product designers.
In this role, you will be responsible for the consistency, quality, and ongoing evolution of the design system across product teams.
This is a collaborative role at the intersection of design and engineering, working closely with frontend engineers and product designers to align standards and implementation practices.

Join our team and help shape the future of live entertainment!

Responsibilities

  • Work on evolving and maintaining our existing UI foundation in Figma, Storybook, and code;

  • Design and refine core UI components (inputs, buttons, form elements, patterns other UI components and patterns) as part of the design system;

  • Refine and extend a scalable token architecture (primitive → semantic → component) with support for theming;

  • Improve alignment between Figma, frontend implementation, and Storybook to ensure consistency across the product;

  • Contribute to and improve the design-to-code workflow using Figma Variables, Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary, and CI/CD pipelines;

  • Support migration of components toward a token-based structure, starting with the most impactful areas;

  • Help shape and maintain contribution guidelines and system standards for design and engineering teams;

  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to make the system easy to understand and use;

  • Explore and support AI-assisted workflows, including structured and machine-readable design system practices.

Job requirements

You’ll thrive here if you have

  • 4+ years of experience in design systems, design engineering, or related roles;

  • Strong Figma expertise (Variables, Auto Layout, Component Properties, shared libraries);

  • Good understanding of frontend development (CSS custom properties, SCSS, basic JavaScript) and ability to collaborate effectively with engineers;

  • Hands-on experience with Storybook (writing stories, documenting states and variants);

  • Familiarity with token tooling such as Style Dictionary, Tokens Studio, or equivalent;

  • Strong systems thinking — able to see patterns, dependencies, and long-term implications across design and code;

  • Practical mindset focused on building solutions that teams can realistically adopt and maintain.

Who you are

  • Think in systems, patterns, and trade-offs rather than isolated UI tasks;

  • Comfortable making decisions about when to introduce new components versus extending existing ones;

  • Value pragmatic solutions that improve long-term maintainability over short-term visual fixes;

  • Work naturally in cross-functional environments with both designers and engineers;

  • Care about clarity, consistency, and usability of design systems as a shared foundation.

Conditions

We know that great talent deserves great conditions, so here's what you can expect when joining us:

  • Full remote work.

  • Competitive compensation with a service contract.

  • Transparent performance reviews twice a year, with bonus opportunities and salary adjustments.

  • An annual allowance that you can use for home office improvements, sports activities, equipment upgrades, and more—tailor it to what benefits you most.

  • Investment in your development: paid language courses, access to various learning platforms, and a mindfulness benefit, including psychological support with 50% coverage.

  • Career growth in a fast-scaling project with opportunities to influence technical decisions.
