En tant que mécanicien de camions lourds, votre objectif est de garantir les normes les plus élevées en matière de sécurité, de fiabilité et d’efficacité pour tous les véhicules sous votre responsabilité. Vous serez reconnu comme un expert de confiance grâce à votre souci du détail et à vos compétences en diagnostic.

En adoptant les nouvelles technologies et en restant à jour sur les avancées de l’industrie, vous contribuerez à optimiser les processus de maintenance et à réduire considérablement les temps d’arrêt. Par une communication proactive et un esprit d’équipe, vous favoriserez un environnement collaboratif axé sur le partage des connaissances et le développement des compétences.

  • Effectuer l’entretien de routine: Réaliser les tâches d’entretien planifiées, telles que les vidanges d’huile, la vérification des fluides et l’inspection des pneus, afin d’assurer le bon fonctionnement et la sécurité des véhicules.
  • Diagnostiquer et réparer les problèmes mécaniques : Utiliser des outils et des techniques de diagnostic pour identifier les défaillances des moteurs, transmissions, freins, systèmes de direction et autres composants. Réparer ou remplacer les pièces défectueuses.
  • Réparer les systèmes électriques et hydrauliques: Diagnostiquer et réparer le câblage électrique, les systèmes d’éclairage et les systèmes hydrauliques afin d’assurer leur bon fonctionnement.
  • Inspecter et tester les véhicules: Effectuer des inspections complètes pour détecter l’usure, les dommages ou les problèmes potentiels. Effectuer des essais routiers pour vérifier les réparations et identifier les anomalies.
  • Respecter les normes de sécurité : Appliquer les protocoles et règlements de sécurité lors des réparations et de l’entretien. S’assurer que les véhicules respectent les normes de sécurité avant leur remise en service.
  • Fournir un encadrement technique: Soutenir et former les mécaniciens juniors ou apprentis en partageant vos connaissances et votre expertise.
  • Se tenir à jour sur les tendances de l’industrie : Se tenir informé des nouvelles technologies, outils et techniques de réparation. Participer à des formations et ateliers pour améliorer continuellement ses compétences.
  • Utiliser l’équipement de manière sécuritaire : Manipuler correctement les outils, équipements et machines en respectant les instructions du fabricant.
  • Service à la clientèle: Communiquer efficacement avec les superviseurs, les chauffeurs et les clients. Fournir des explications claires concernant les réparations et les besoins d’entretien afin d’assurer la satisfaction des clients.
  • Réparations d’urgence: Répondre rapidement aux demandes de réparation urgente afin de minimiser les temps d’arrêt et maintenir les véhicules en opération.
  • Maintenir la propreté de l’atelier :Garder les espaces de travail propres et organisés pour garantir un environnement sûr et efficace.

Compétences requises

  • Expérience confirmée en tant que mécanicien de camions lourds ou dans un rôle similaire.
  • Excellente connaissance des moteurs diesel, des transmissions, des systèmes hydrauliques et électriques.
  • Maîtrise des outils et équipements de diagnostic.
  • Capacité à lire et interpréter des manuels techniques et des schémas.
  • Excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes et grande attention aux détails.
  • Engagement fort envers les normes de sécurité.
  • Bonnes aptitudes en communication et esprit d’équipe.
  • Certification d’une école technique reconnue ou d’un programme d’apprentissage (un atout).
  • Permis de conduire valide et dossier de conduite propre.
  • Capacité à soulever des charges lourdes et à travailler dans diverses positions pendant de longues périodes.
  • À l’aise de travailler à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur, dans différentes conditions météorologiques.

Ultimately, one needs to uphold the reputation of excellence in truck servicing, contributing to the operational success and customer satisfaction of our fleet.

  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, and tire inspections to ensure vehicles operate smoothly and safely.
  • Diagnose and Repair Mechanical Issues: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify problems in engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other components. Repair or replace defective parts as needed.
  • Perform Electrical and Hydraulic System Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, and hydraulic systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Inspect and Test Vehicles: Conduct thorough inspections to detect wear, damage, or potential issues. Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose problems that may only become apparent while driving.
  • Follow Safety Standards: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations when performing repairs and maintenance. Ensure that vehicles meet safety standards before they are returned to service.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Assist and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise in heavy-duty truck repair and maintenance.
  • Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Stay informed about advancements in truck technology, tools, and repair techniques. Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Operate Equipment Safely: Use tools, equipment, and machinery properly and safely, following manufacturer instructions and guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with supervisor, drivers, and other customers.
  • Provide clear explanations of repairs and maintenance needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and keep vehicles operational.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Truck Mechanic or similar role, with a solid understanding of truck mechanics and systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment for heavy trucks. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to safety standards and practices.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and provide clear explanations to customers.
  • Certification from a recognized technical school or apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to various weather condition
