Cloud & Platform Engineer (Linux)

We are looking for an experienced Cloud & Platform Engineer to take a leading role in shaping, managing, and evolving our clients cloud and infrastructure services. Working across both Azure and Linux environments, you will be responsible for delivering secure, resilient, and high-performing platforms that support critical business operations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will drive cloud modernisation, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), FinOps, observability, and platform governance. You'll work closely with architects, internal teams, and managed service providers to improve reliability, optimise cloud expenditure, enhance security, and ensure robust disaster recovery capabilities.

The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, container technologies, and enterprise platform operations, with experience supporting both Windows and Linux environments. You will also play a key role in mentoring engineers, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring platform services remain secure, scalable, and aligned with business and cyber security objectives.

• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated hands-on cloud engineering experience, demonstrating progressive responsibility.

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure is required; experience with AWS is a significant plus.

• Proven experience with FinOps, IaC, configuration management, and modern CI/CD platforms.

• Strong proficiency with CI/CD workflows.

• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

• A proactive drive to set and uphold technical standards and mentor others.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical work experience.

• Self-motivated and pro-active with a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve important goals

• Proven experience as a subject matter expert in operational infrastructure support and maintenance (including own and cloud data centres) in the oil and gas sector or equivalent, covering systems such server, storage, back-up & recovery, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and security services

• Commitment to staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Preferred:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is preferred. Comparable AWS certifications are also valued.
