As the Project Manager, Global Facilities Construction & Project Management at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be partnering with Central Engineering, South Asia Regional and Site Construction Directors across different geographies in South Asia to deliver multi-billion annual construction projects critical to Micron’s continuous growth.
You will be leading the Global Construction & Project Management organization and will be responsible for developing global construction roadmap and strategy, optimizing construction management process and controls to ensure projects are successfully and safely delivered on time and within budget. This includes, but will not be limited to, managing change and assessing the operational and financial risks for proposed construction project plans and process for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project management tasks.
You will report to Micron’s Senior Director of Global Facilities & Construction, South Asia Regional and collaborate with global and regional departments from Facilities and Constructions, Planning, Finance, Procurement and Manufacturing groups in both Front-End and Assembly & Test groups, and team members across the company at all levels of the organization (including C-level) to help optimize Micron’s construction performance.
This is an ideal position for an experienced construction & project management manager, who leverages AI, thrives in a fast-paced multi-national environment where strategic influencing and outstanding business acumen are critical skills. The ideal candidate will have an established track record of deep expertise in construction management, a strong ability to drive best-in-class practices, and the capability to collaborate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic, iterative environment that also affords the stability of a global, well-established and competitive technology company.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects across multiple regions, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Drive construction cost management initiatives and ensure financial accountability in all construction activities.
- Lead efforts with close collaboration with Indirect Construction Procurement to enhance best optimum construction procurement strategies, ensuring the selection of high-quality materials and services.
- Oversee commissioning processes to ensure facilities are operational and meet all performance criteria before handover.
- Implement comprehensive risk management practices to identify, mitigate, and manage construction risks effectively.
- Collaborate with other leaders and teams inside and outside from Global, Regional and Site Facilities, Global EHSS, Global Procurement, Corporate Finance as well as external industry agencies and consultants to develop highly effective working relationship to drive success of the project execution.
- Assure the company procedures, business conduct and ethics policies are being always complied with.
- Identify risks and adverse influences that can impact the outcome of a project to develop realistic delivery plans and ensure that goals are met.
- Support site in construction quality and commissioning management
- Good stakeholder management and interfacing skills
- Invest time in coaching and mentoring people and help team members learn and grow.
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in a Construction, Building, Project Management, Engineering or Architecture related field.
- Professional certifications in construction management (e.g., PMP, CCM) or equivalent
- Experience as a construction project management in EPCM project.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Ability to integrate and work in a global multicultural team
- Flexibility and willingness to travel on a regular basis
- Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Cost and Schedule management experience.
- Good analytical and organizational abilities required to ensure effective management and decision making.
- AI-Enabled mindset
Minimum Experience & Skills:
- Suitable candidates are likely to have a minimum of 15 years working experience consist of 10 years’ experience in construction with minimum 5 years in managerial role as a Project Manager.
- Demonstrable experience in the management of multi-disciplined semiconductor projects and/or other relevant industries is strongly preferred.
- Practiced in project control mechanisms and with commercial and technical risk assessments.
- Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to visualize issues and communicate them to others.
- Outstanding organization, coordination and leadership skills – ability to coordinate and motivate groups of Consultants / Contractors.
- Ability to work collaboratively and pro-actively in a team environment.
