Working at Ohalo

Ever looked at the average file share at an enterprise? Millions of files, over-shared, unlabelled, full of personal data and IP. Nobody knows what's in them, and we've seen this stall AI rollouts and exacerbate security breaches.

It's what we've been solving since 2017. Data X-Ray discovers and classifies file stores at petabyte scale across an enterprise's entire unstructured data landscape. Then it acts on what it finds: surfacing over-privileged access before it gets exploited, pushing labels into Microsoft Purview, feeding DLP and SASE, redacting at source, and curating governed datasets the AI teams are actually allowed to use.

Role Purpose

The Ohalo team is growing, and we’re now looking for a sharp and mission-driven Product Manager to join our Technology team. You will be the conduit of information and insights for a team on inventors. Your work will be to collaborate with engineers to break features down into prioritised backlogs, taking ownership of defining, prioritising, and accepting the work delivered by the pods. You will work hand-in-hand with the CTO and Engineering Teams to help us make things happen.

There will be some asynchronous work, but you should anticipate a certain amount of synchronous work given the nature of the Product Manager role.

The Team - who you'll be working with:

  • Alistair Jones - CTO
  • Dave Spooner - Director of Engineer
  • Two pod of 5 Product Engineers each

If you enjoy challenging work in a mission- and value-driven environment, this could be the role for you!

Location: Remote, GMT/BST and CET/CSET timezones preferable.

Travel Requirement: None

Report Line: Product Director

Key Stakeholders: Product Director, CTO, Engineering Managers, Engineering Team Members

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and and the product roadmap
  • Create product plans and roadmap items for our two product development pod
  • Communicate and build awareness for new and upcoming features both internally and externally through product marketing announcements, webinars and demos
  • Produce feature specifications and review product requirements documents (PRD)
  • Review and provide edits for product documentation and release notes
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule
  • Track product use and impact on end users
  • Make creative recommendations to expand product base and vision
  • Co-develop product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Experience as a Product Manager for products destined for use by Software Engineers, Data Professionals or ML Engineers.
    • In lieu of official experience in product management, we would also consider relevant experience in product design and engineering, with relevant credentials in product management (such as online courses, certifications).
  • Proficiency with modern AI tooling like agentic coding, MCP servers and AI platform building.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and a proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycles
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a remote-first organization.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with customers and colleagues alike.
  • Also important to mention if you have it:
    • Prior experience as a software developer.
    • Experience in the domain data protection or data governance.

About you

  • You’re passionate and you care a lot – you have a genuine passion for the data privacy & governance domain, and towards building trusting relationships with your colleagues and customers.
  • You collaborate with and influence others – you’re a team player, who values collaboration and achieving things together.
  • You’ve got excellent interpersonal skills – you have strong written and oral communication skills to effectively share knowledge and ideas and bring people along on the journey with you.
  • You’re organised – you have strong attention to detail and time management skills, and ensure you meet release deadlines.
  • You want to grow and you want your team to grow – you have a positive attitude towards change and uncertainty, and have a desire to continuously grow and learn.
  • You embrace coaching – whether it is mentoring team members, or your own coachability.
  • You’re endlessly curious – you actively seek to understand more through networking, questioning and research, and you persist while preserving relationships.
  • You think strategically and make decisions – you have keen business acumen and approach problems from different angles. You use the available information to make effective decisions and recommendations.
  • You walk it like you talk it - you keep your commitments and communicate if deadlines need to change.
