
Maintenance Builder
We are looking for a multi-skilled builder to join the maintenance team on a permanent and help maintain both interiors and exteriors throughout our 250 guest rooms in the Hermitage complex, along with our 150 staff accommodation rooms, as well as the surrounding support buildings and grounds. This is a varied and fast-paced role with a mix of proactive and reactive work, in a fun, skilled, enthusiastic, and diverse team of all ages and mixed nationalities; not to mention a location and work site like no other.
What you will be doing
Maintaining the interior and exterior fixtures of the hotel, lodge, motels and staff accommodations to hotel standards
General, planned, and project tasks across our property portfolio
Operating and maintaining all tools and machinery as outlined in department SOPs
Planning and prioritizing jobs to ensure time limits are met
Ensuring a high standard of health, safety, and hygiene is maintained
Carrying out any other general maintenance duties as directed
What you will bring to the role
Experience as a builder and able to action general maintenance.
Prior experience in commercial or residential property
A thorough understanding of Health and Safety, including site management
A confident and safe driver, you hold a full clean NZ Driver’s license or international equivalent
A can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
Friendly, outgoing, and professional, with excellent communication skills
Flexible, adaptable, and able to prioritize
A strong desire to strive for excellence
The role and benefits
Fulltime, permanent position, minimum 80 hours per fortnight, typically working 7am - 5pm.
Role is roster based, including weekends, and on-call rosters
Pay range is $29.00 - $36.00 depending on qualifications and experience.
