Multi-Skilled Operative (Damp, Mould and Disrepair)
As part of our growth, we are looking for a dedicated Multi-Skilled Operative to join our Damp, Mould and Disrepair Team here at Freebridge Community Housing, carrying out a wide range of maintenance and building tasks that help ensure our residents live in safe, warm and well-maintained homes. Drawing on your trade skills and experience, you will play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality remediation works - taking pride in the standard of everything you do and contributing to a service that puts residents at the heart of every decision.
Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7500 properties across West and North Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our customers' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. At Freebridge, we live by our values: Belong, Own It, Think Customer, One Team One Purpose, and Be the Change.
Outline of key responsibilities...
- Resolve damp, mould and condensation issues in customers' homes to a high standard, working in compliance with Awaab's Law and the Freebridge Standard
- Undertake a wide range of maintenance and construction tasks across multiple trade disciplines, diagnosing problems and taking ownership of their resolution to ensure all work is completed to the required standard
- Report directly to the Damp, Mould and Disrepair Surveyor on the progress, completion and any issues arising from tasks, maintaining clear and timely communication throughout
- Work collaboratively with the wider Compliance team to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the damp, mould and disrepair service
- Deliver all works in line with industry best practice and Freebridge standards, with a consistent focus on achieving excellent customer satisfaction
We are looking for someone who has...
- A minimum of three years' experience working in their primary trade within a maintenance environment, demonstrating a strong and consistent track record of delivering high quality work
- At least one year's experience working across secondary or additional trades, with evidence of relevant training in secondary and tertiary trade skills
- The practical ability to complete the full range of tasks associated with multi-skilled working, including complete bathroom and kitchen replacements, floor and wall tiling, plaster repairs and painting
- Confidence in using ICT mobile systems to manage and update work orders efficiently whilst out in the field
- The ability to complete accurate and auditable paperwork, ensuring all works are recorded and signed off in a timely and compliant manner
- A full UK driving licence, as the role requires travel between properties across our area of operation
What’s in it for you?
At Freebridge, we’re appreciative of our team and you can enjoy the following benefits from joining us, among many more:
- An Annual Salary of: £40,542.14 plus company van and fuel card
- Generous Holiday Leave: Enjoy 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service
