The AI Portal team acts as the airlock between Wayve and its commercial partners: managing data flows, partner integrations, operational tooling, and web interfaces for internal and external audiences. We are a small, high-ownership team operating like a startup within a scale-up: close to our customers and close to the commercial frontier of autonomous vehicle deployment.

We build product, own systems end-to-end, operate what we ship, and work directly with some of the biggest names in the automotive industry to make sure Wayve delivers a world-class technical experience.

The Role

This is a cloud-based software engineering role for a product-minded engineer who enjoys building fast with care, maintaining the solutions they build, and working close to customers.

You will work across services, interfaces, infrastructure, and integrations, looking after systems in production. We are looking for engineers who are comfortable moving across the stack to solve customer problems.

You will build internal or partner-facing product features, integrate Wayve systems with OEM environments, improve our application quality, and resolve production issues when they arise.

This is a build-it, run-it team with a high level of ownership: you will not just write code; you will have shared ownership of the systems we build. You will use metrics and feedback to improve Portal over time to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities

Build and operate software products used by Wayve staff and our autonomy partners.

Develop services, APIs, integrations, and user interfaces across the Portal platform.

Work across microservices, web frontends, cloud infrastructure, and partner-facing systems.

Improve the reliability, observability, and operability of the Portal platform.

Triage and resolve production issues, whether reported by customers or detected through internal monitoring.

Once established, participate in an out-of-hours on-call and support rotation.

Solve problems end-to-end: understand the customer need, design the solution, build it, ship it, and keep it running.

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Software Engineer (Product, AI Portal) at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience:

Essential

Strong software engineering experience - we use Java, Python, and Typescript React.

Experience building and operating production systems, ideally as part of a small team.

Experience building multi-tenant platforms or APIs for external users.

Experience building tools and processes that make your team faster

Experience with enterprise SaaS, B2B platforms, or customer-facing production systems.

Comfort working across the stack including infrastructure, backend services, APIs and frontend development, although the role is backend leaning.

Experience with on-call, incident response or support rotation for a production system.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with stakeholders.

Product-minded: you care about user problems, not just technical implementation.

High sense of ownership in ambiguous, fast-changing environments

Motivated by a startup within a scale-up: small team, big impact, enterprise grade.

Desirable

Experience working with automotive, mobility, robotics, or autonomy partners.

Experience with secure data flows, cross-cloud integrations, or partner environments.

This is a full-time role based in our office in London. At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.

Wayve is committed to creating an inclusive interview experience.
