Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician

Level Electrical & Air Maitland

Maitland, Newcastle & the Hunter Valley

Full-time | Above-award wages | Four-day week available

Great work. Good people. A week that works for you.

Are you an experienced Air Conditioning Technician who takes pride in doing the job properly?

Perhaps you’re ready for a workplace where quality matters, the team supports one another, and your contribution is genuinely valued. Or maybe you’re a third- or fourth-year apprentice looking for the right team to help you finish your trade and build a rewarding career.

At Level Electrical & Air Maitland, we’ve built a strong reputation for standout air conditioning solutions across Maitland, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. We’re growing and looking for a capable, customer-focused technician to join our team.

You’ll work across a varied mix of residential, commercial and industrial sites, carrying out installations, servicing, fault-finding and repairs. No two days will be exactly the same - and you’ll have the opportunity to use your technical skills, solve real problems and deliver work you’re proud to put your name to.

Why join Level Electrical & Air Maitland?

  • Above-award wages
  • Four-day working week available
  • Varied installation, service and repair work
  • A respected local business with a reputation for quality
  • Supportive, professional team environment
  • Opportunities to share your knowledge and mentor apprentices
  • Modern digital systems that make job reporting and documentation easier
  • Long-term opportunity with a growing business
  • Work across Maitland, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley

What you’ll be doing

In this hands-on role, you will:

  • Work across residential, commercial and industrial sites
  • Diagnose HVAC faults using gauges, thermometers and other diagnostic tools
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical and refrigeration schematics
  • Complete work safely, neatly and in line with Australian standards
  • Explain faults, recommended solutions and service costs clearly to customers
  • Identify out-of-scope work requiring a variation or quotation
  • Collaborate with other technicians and trades on project installations
  • Maintain accurate job records, timesheets and photo documentation using field-based software
  • Organise job-specific materials through preferred suppliers
  • Support, coach and supervise air conditioning apprentices
  • Represent the business professionally through your workmanship, communication and site conduct

What you’ll bring

We’d like to hear from you if you have:

  • A current Refrigerant Handling Licence
  • A current Australian driver’s licence
  • Strong installation, servicing and fault-finding skills
  • A sound understanding of refrigeration, electrical and safety standards
  • Clear communication skills and a professional approach with customers
  • The ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • Pride in delivering reliable, high-quality workmanship
  • Confidence using digital job-management tools, or the willingness to learn
  • A current Police Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them

A dual air conditioning and electrical trade qualification will be highly regarded, but it isn’t essential.

Third- and fourth-year apprentices are also encouraged to apply.

You’ll fit right in if you…

  • Take ownership of your work
  • Prefer doing things properly the first time
  • Keep customers informed and treat their property with respect
  • Put safety and compliance first
  • Enjoy solving technical problems
  • Support your teammates and help apprentices develop
  • Want to be part of a professional business with high standards
