
Head of Technical Revenue Accounting

We're building a world-class Revenue Accounting & Operations Team to drive our operational and financial goals while embodying our core values. This role sits on our finance team and offers the opportunity to shape the foundation of a rapidly growing company with a transformative vision.
This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What You’ll Achieve

Lead Strategy & Governance: Lead technical revenue accounting strategy and governance while overseeing the technical alignment of end-to-end quote-to-cash and revenue processes.

Strategic Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner strategically across executive leadership and cross-functional teams (Sales, RevOps, Legal, Product, IT) to evaluate technical accounting implications for complex Enterprise deals and strategic business initiatives.

Deep Product Alignment: Integrate yourself across Product, Sales, and Marketing to build deep knowledge of our products.

Technical Authority: Serve as the primary technical revenue accounting authority, establishing frameworks and guidance for emerging SaaS, consumption, and partner business models.

Scale & Compliance: Ensure quote-to-cash processes are scalable and revenue recognition aligns with US GAAP, ASC 606, and company policies as the product portfolio expands.

Policy Ownership: Establish, maintain, and update enterprise-wide revenue recognition policies and accounting memos across Product, Partnerships, and Professional Services.

Process Automation: Lead automation projects and streamline processes with Finance Transformation and cross-functional partners.
About You
- Ai Curiosity: Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.

Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.

Relevant Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in technical revenue accounting and finance leadership, preferably within a high-growth, public multinational company ($100M+ ARR).

Technical Mastery: Deep subject matter expertise in U.S. GAAP revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606) and extensive experience authoring technical accounting memos.

System Expertise: Experience with NetSuite, Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue, and Salesforce CPQ preferred.

Business Model Design: Proven track record of designing technical accounting frameworks for complex SaaS, consumption-based pricing, and multi-element arrangements.

Audit & Advisory Background: Big-4 or equivalent national accounting firm experience is highly desirable.

Leadership & Executive Communication: Strong leadership and executive communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional leaders on complex technical accounting decisions.

We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $207,000 – $261,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
