The role | Te tūnga     Join a high-profile transformation programme that is helping build the future of Census processing at Stats NZ. As Scrum Master, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering a modern, scalable Census Processing System that supports New Zealand's evolving data needs and long-term integrated data strategy. This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2027 based in Christchurch. Working alongside Product Owners, architects, analysts, engineers, data specialists and senior stakeholders, you'll champion Agile ways of working, remove barriers to success, and empower teams to deliver high-value outcomes. This is an opportunity to lead across multiple workstreams, influence delivery at scale, and help foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation What you bring | Nōu te rourou    * Proven experience leading Agile delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary teams. * Strong knowledge of Scrum, Nexus, Scrum-of-Scrums or other scaled Agile frameworks. * A skilled coach who can build high-performing, self-organising teams and drive continuous improvement. * Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. * Strong planning, prioritisation and dependency management capability across multiple streams of work. * Experience using delivery metrics and insights to support decision-making, transparency and successful outcomes. * A collaborative, proactive mindset with a passion for delivering value in complex and evolving environments. * Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to strengthening cultural capability and responsiveness to Māori.  We recognise that valuable skills can come from both paid and unpaid work.
