Up to 25 hours per week

Are you organised, confident with numbers and looking for a part-time accounts role within a growing and ambitious business?

Karntek is looking for an Accounts Administrator to join our team and provide essential support across our day-to-day finance activities.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous accounts or finance administration experience who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy and would like to be part of a supportive and friendly team.

About Karntek

Karntek is a leading and rapidly growing fire safety consultancy, trusted by clients across the residential and education sectors to deliver high-quality fire safety services.

Our expertise spans fire risk assessments, fire door inspections, passive fire protection surveys and specialist consultancy. We are proud to hold BAFE SP205 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment Scheme certification and ISO 9001 accreditation, reflecting our commitment to quality, professionalism and continuous improvement.

As we continue to grow, we are investing in our people by providing a supportive and collaborative environment where development is encouraged, achievements are recognised and careers can flourish.

The Role

As our Accounts Administrator, you will play an important part in keeping our finance processes running smoothly.

Working across a range of day-to-day accounts activities, you will help maintain accurate financial records, process invoices and payments, support reconciliations and assist with general finance administration.

The role is part-time, for up to 25 hours per week.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
  • Preparing supplier payment runs for approval.
  • Maintaining supplier accounts and resolving invoice or payment queries.
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes where required.
  • Allocating customer payments against outstanding invoices.
  • Supporting credit control and following up overdue accounts.
  • Carrying out bank and account reconciliations.
  • Processing employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assisting with month-end processes and the preparation of financial information.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets, reports and management information.
  • Responding to finance-related queries from customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Maintaining accurate customer and supplier records.
  • Supporting general finance administration and the wider team as required.

We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable and comfortable working with numbers.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within accounts, finance or a similar administrative role.
  • Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member.
  • A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential information.

Desirable – But Not Essential

It would be helpful if you have experience in some of the following, but we don't expect you to tick every box:

  • Xero or similar accounting software.
  • Salesforce.
  • Purchase ledger and/or sales ledger processes.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Credit control.
  • An AAT, bookkeeping or accounting qualification, or currently working towards one.

Practical experience and the right attitude are just as important to us.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, pro rata for part-time hours.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • Employee recognition programme.
  • Employee discounts and shopping portal.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
