Senior Legal Counsel - Crypto / DeFi
Re7 Capital is a London-based crypto-asset investment firm. We’re hiring a Senior Legal Associate who will report directly to the COO to manage legal, regulatory, and operational activities across the firm. This is a senior, cross-functional hands on role supporting fund regulation, compliance, commercial structuring, and strategic execution across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll work closely with leadership, team members and external partners to ensure Re7 operates with institutional-grade precision as we continue to expand globally.
Responsibilities:
Legal & Compliance
- Manage regulatory licensing and cross-jurisdictional legal structures.
- Challenge and support commercial deal structuring and negotiation.
- Ensure compliance across sales, marketing and corporate communications.
- Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of existing and new products.
- Handle legal entity governance, new structures, IP protection, and data privacy compliance.
- 5+ years of legal and operations experience within crypto, asset management or financial services
- Appreciation of digital assets and crypto-native legal frameworks
- Qualified lawyer or equivalent experience in a senior legal function
- Strong understanding of financial regulations across multiple jurisdictions (e.g. FCA, CIMA, SEC, MiCA etc)
- Proven experience managing legal entity structuring, fund governance, and cross-border operations
- Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Familiarity with offshore fund and asset management structures
- Experience working with external counsel and regulators
