Join a Growing Business

Karntek is a growing business specialising in fire safety compliance. We work with organisations across the UK, helping them maintain safe, compliant buildings through a range of inspection, survey, and compliance services.

As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a Business Development Executive to help us build new relationships, identify opportunities and support our continued success.

The Role

As a Business Development Executive, you'll play an important role in supporting the growth of the business by identifying and developing relationships with prospective and existing clients.

A significant part of the role will involve proactively contacting new organisations, identifying the appropriate decision-makers, introducing Karntek and exploring whether there may be a requirement for our fire safety and compliance services.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll help raise awareness of our services, identify new opportunities and contribute to our ongoing growth plans.

You'll engage with a wide range of organisations and professionals across multiple sectors through telephone conversations, follow-up communication, client meetings, networking events and industry activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and develop relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Identify and engage with new business opportunities across our target sectors.
  • Attend networking events, exhibitions and industry meetings.
  • Arrange and participate in client meetings and introductory discussions.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, presentations and business development materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities and activities within company systems.
  • Conduct market research and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support business growth initiatives.
  • Promote Karntek's services in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Support the delivery of business development and marketing activities.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident, personable and comfortable approaching new organisations and starting conversations with people they haven't spoken to before.

You'll need to be proactive and resilient, with the confidence to pick up the phone, engage prospective clients and create opportunities from an initial conversation.

Previous experience in telemarketing, telesales, telephone-based business development, lead generation or customer-facing sales would be advantageous, although attitude, communication skills and a willingness to learn are equally important.

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys building relationships and meeting new people.
  • Confident speaking with customers, prospects and colleagues.
  • Organised and able to manage their workload effectively.
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
  • Strong customer focus and professional approach.
  • Eager to learn, develop and contribute to the growth of the business.

Desirable

  • Experience in a customer-facing, sales, account management, recruitment, business development or similar role.
  • Experience working within construction, property, compliance, facilities management or professional services.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Experience attending networking events or representing a business externally.
  • An interest in fire safety, building safety or compliance services.

Why This Role is a Great Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing business where you'll be supported to develop your skills, build valuable industry relationships and make a genuine contribution to our success.

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys working with people and wants to be part of a team that is ambitious, supportive and committed to delivering excellent service.

If you're looking for a role where you can learn, develop and grow alongside a successful business, we'd love to hear from you.
