Senior Product Engineer - (Legal Applications)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product/Application Engineer with 7–10 years of experience managing and supporting critical enterprise applications in production environments. The role involves application administration, production support, disaster recovery, upgrades and patching, cloud migrations, security, performance optimization, integrations, and ongoing application enhancements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience across enterprise application support, cloud/on-premise infrastructure, databases, networking, scripting, security, monitoring, and DevOps practices.

Mandatory Legal Technology Experience

Candidates must have hands-on experience with at least 2–3 of the following applications:

• Nasdaq Boardvantage
• Englobe
• iManage
• App4Legal
• Access Admin
• Moody Orbis

Knowledge of legal workflows, document management, access control, attorney-client privilege, and legal data retention will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and provide technical support for critical enterprise legal applications in production environments.
• Act as the technical point of contact for application incidents, escalations, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Monitor application health, performance, availability, and user experience.
• Plan, execute, and validate Production and Disaster Recovery (DR) failovers, including periodic DR testing.
• Maintain DR procedures, runbooks, and ensure compliance with RTO/RPO requirements.
• Plan and execute application upgrades, security patches, testing, deployment, and rollback activities.
• Support and lead on-premises to cloud application migrations, including data migration, validation, reconciliation, and post-migration optimization.
• Gather requirements from business/legal stakeholders and deliver application enhancements and integrations.
• Collaborate with application vendors, infrastructure, cloud, security, database, and business teams.
• Support security hardening, access management, vulnerability remediation, audit, and compliance activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, application configurations, asset inventories, runbooks, and change records.
• Participate in incident management, change management, release management, and post-incident reviews.

Required Technical Skills

• 7–10 years of experience in application engineering, application administration, product operations, or enterprise application support.
• Strong experience managing enterprise applications in production environments.
• Experience with application upgrades, patching, DR, business continuity, and production support.
• Strong understanding of on-premises and cloud infrastructure — AWS, Azure, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting or executing cloud migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases, backup/restore, connectivity troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Good understanding of networking, including firewall rules, DNS, SSL/TLS, VPN, and application connectivity.
• Ability to develop/use automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with application monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting, including ELK or equivalent tools.
• Understanding of security controls, SSL certificates, credential management, access control, encryption, and security hardening.
• Good understanding of SDLC, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and formal change management processes.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, integrations, deployment methodologies, and performance optimization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work with business teams, technology teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and application providers.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with multiple legal technology platforms.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Cloud certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with ITSM tools.
• Experience with incident management and post-mortem analysis.
• Knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Vendor-specific certifications for relevant legal applications.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
