About You:

The Role:

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in software testing, combined with hands-on experience in test automation. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and other engineers throughout the software development lifecycle, helping to define test strategies, identify defects, and continuously improve our testing practices.

Candidates should have development or automation experience using either .NET/C# or Java.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases across web, API, and backend applications.
  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and regression test suites.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and regression testing activities.
  • Create robust, maintainable, and reusable automated tests using C#/.NET or Java.
  • Perform functional, integration, system, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
  • Test REST APIs and integrations between applications and services.
  • Analyse requirements and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios, risks, and potential defects.
  • Work closely with developers to investigate, reproduce, and resolve defects.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
  • Maintain accurate test documentation, test evidence, and defect reports.
  • Contribute to the improvement of test processes, frameworks, tools, and overall quality practices.
  • Support non-functional testing activities, including performance and reliability testing where required.
  • Provide clear reporting on test progress, risks, defects, and overall quality.

Key Skills:

  • Proven professional experience as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer, Software Tester, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation.
  • Programming experience in C#/.NET or Java.
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
  • Experience testing web applications and REST APIs.
  • Good understanding of SQL and database testing.
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying quality risks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and wider technical teams.
  • Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, or similar.
  • Experience with SpecFlow, Cucumber, or BDD.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience testing cloud-based applications, particularly Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
  • Knowledge of Docker and containerised test environments.
  • Experience designing or enhancing an automation framework from the ground up.
  • Understanding of test automation best practices, including maintainability, reusability, and reliable test execution.
