Position Summary

The Business Intelligence & Strategic Analytics Lead is responsible for defining and executing Hilo's Business Intelligence strategy, enabling data-informed decision making across the organisation. Acting as a strategic partner to Finance, Product, Commercial, Clinical and Leadership teams, this role translates complex business challenges into scalable analytics solutions and actionable insights. You will own the evolution of Hilo's BI capability, driving reporting excellence, data governance and self-service analytics while helping shape key business decisions through trusted data. 

Core Responsibilities

Analytics & Reporting 

Design, develop and continuously evolve dashboards, KPI frameworks and self-service analytics capabilities that empower teams to make confident, data-informed decisions. 

• Deliver timely, accurate and actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision making. 

• Collaborate with business leaders to identify analytical opportunities and define reporting requirements. 

• Drive adoption and continuous improvement of reporting and analytics tools across the organisation. 

• Monitor and enhance reporting performance, usability, and stakeholder satisfaction. 

BI Strategy & Leadership 

• Define and execute Hilo’s Business Intelligence strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with company objectives and priorities. 

• Own, maintain, and continuously evolve Hilo’s BI platform (Metabase) as the central source of truth for operational, commercial, product, and financial reporting. 

• Establish BI standards, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability across analytics solutions. 

• Champion a data-driven culture across the organisation by promoting the effective use of data in decision-making. 

• Prioritise BI initiatives based on business value, strategic impact and organisational priorities to maximise measurable outcomes. 

• Act as a trusted analytics partner to Finance, Product, Commercial, Clinical, and Leadership teams. 

• Own end-to-end analytics initiatives, aligning stakeholders, ensuring delivery excellence and driving measurable business impact. 

Business Performance & Strategic Analytics 

• Partner with the Operations to analyse customer acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, churn, monetisation, and lifetime value across Hilo’s product portfolio. 

• Deliver actionable insights that inform commercial strategy, resource allocation, pricing decisions, and business prioritisation. 

• Partner with leadership on strategic analyses, forecasting, scenario modelling and performance reviews to support high-impact business decisions. 

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes through data-driven recommendations. 

Data Management & Governance 

• Establish and maintain high standards for data quality, consistency and reliability across all BI and analytics solutions. 

• Define and maintain business metrics, KPI definitions, and data standards. 

• Partner with Data Engineering and IT teams to support data architecture, integration, and scalability. 

• Champion data governance initiatives, including security, compliance, documentation, and metric standardisation. 

Stakeholder Management & Project Delivery 

• Act as the trusted Business Intelligence partner to Finance, Product, Commercial, Clinical and Leadership teams, translating business needs into impactful analytics solutions. 

• Lead BI initiatives end-to-end, from requirements gathering through design, development and deployment, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. 

• Align stakeholders, manage priorities and balance competing business needs to maximise business impact. 

• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership through clear data storytelling, enabling informed strategic decisions. 

• Ensure BI solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with Hilo's broader data architecture and governance standards. 

Qualifications 

• Proven experience leading Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Management initiatives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or a related field. 

• Proven experience building scalable Business Intelligence solutions using platforms such as Metabase, Power BI, Tableau or similar. 

• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts. 

• Experience working with data warehouses and cloud platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, etc.). 

• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Master’s degree in a relevant field. 

• Experience with modern data stack technologies. 

• Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics. 

• Experience in Agile project management environments. 

• Relevant certifications (Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, etc.).
