Te tūranga – The role
The Advisor in the Money and Cash Policy teams plays a senior role in developing and delivering policy that supports efficient, innovative, and inclusive money and payments system for New Zealand. As Advisor, you will lead policy projects, provide high-quality analysis and advice, and engage with stakeholders across government and industry. Current key team policy priorities include payments modernisation, cash access, and the future of money.
Ō pūkenga – About you
You will be a strategic and collaborative leader who is passionate about shaping the future of cash and payments in New Zealand. To be successful in this role you will bring:
7+ years' experience in public policy, regulation, financial services, or a related field,
Relevant tertiary qualification (economics, finance, law, or similar),
Proven experience leading and delivering complex policy, analytical, financial, or regulatory projects,
Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, and collaboration skills,
Excellent written and verbal communication,
Experience coaching, managing, or leading individuals and teams,
Sound understanding of New Zealand economic issues and legislative process,
Strong judgement, strategic thinking, and ability to identify and address policy issues.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $152,325 to $177,713 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
