Summer Students / Summer Interns (Parks & Recreation)
We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated students to join our Parks & Recreation team over the summer period. If you enjoy working outdoors, being physically active, and contributing to the appearance and enjoyment of local parks and recreational spaces, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience while earning over the summer break.
As a member of our Parks & Recreation team, you'll assist with maintaining parks, reserves, gardens, sports fields, and public spaces across the district. You'll work alongside experienced team members, learn practical skills and play a key role in helping keep our community looking its best during the busy summer season.
Requirements
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual work
- Strong reliability and punctuality
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a commitment to health and safety
- Applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
- Beneficial to have an interest in gardening.
- A full driver’s license
