Working closely with operational and finance teams, you will help ensure the business remains fully compliant with current legislation while continuously improving processes and controls.

This role is based in our Swindon office, with occasional travel to our Bristol office as required.

WHAT MATTERS MOST IN THIS ROLE

  • Reviewing subcontractor records to ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate audit trails and supporting documentation for all CIS activity.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and implementing process updates where required.
  • Supporting internal and external audits relating to CIS compliance.
  • Producing management information and compliance reports as required.
  • Working with Finance, Property Management and Surveying teams to improve CIS processes and ensure legislative compliance.
  • Undertaking any other duties required to support the smooth running of the Finance function.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach is essential. You will be comfortable interpreting legislation, managing statutory deadlines and providing expert advice to colleagues across the business.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are key, together with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver a high-quality service.

The following are key skill requirements:

  • Previous experience in a specialist CIS role.
  • Strong working knowledge of the UK Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and HMRC requirements.
  • Experience preparing and submitting monthly CIS returns.
  • Knowledge of the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge for construction services.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
