Fitter Welder / Fabricator
Well-established Christchurch engineering business with a strong reputation for building and repairing premium truck and trailer bodies. We design, manufacture and service a wide range of transport equipment for customers across New Zealand. We are looking for an experienced Fitter Welder / Fabricator to join our workshop team. This is a hands-on role working on new builds, modifications and repair work across a variety of truck and trailer equipment.
What you'll be doing
- Fabricating and welding truck and trailer components
- Building tipper bodies, transport equipment and custom vehicle solutions
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Fitting hydraulic, mechanical and structural components
- Repairing and modifying existing equipment
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and safety
- Previous experience in fabrication, fitting and welding
- Ability to read and work from drawings
- MIG welding experience
- Experience working with heavy transport, truck bodies, trailers or similar equipment would be an advantage
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, practical approach and ability to work as part of a team
- Secure, long-term employment
