This role is central to that journey. As organisations adopt AI and automation in secure, scalable, and valuable ways, we need hands-on engineers who can design and deliver solutions that improve processes, productivity, and user experience.

Working primarily across Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, and Azure services, you will support the full delivery lifecycle from discovery and build through to testing, deployment, and early-life support. You will help clients turn requirements into secure, scalable solutions that deliver measurable value.

It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real business problems with technology, working closely with clients and colleagues, and helping shape a growing capability within Sword.

About the role:

As an AI & Automation Engineer, you will deliver client solutions using Microsoft technologies, with a strong focus on Power Platform, Microsoft 365 integration, Copilot Studio, and Azure-enabled services. You will play a hands-on role in building, testing, deploying, and supporting solutions that meet client needs and align with technical and governance standards.

You will work with clients, consultants, architects, and specialists to shape requirements, support solution design, and deliver production-ready outcomes. The role suits someone who is comfortable moving between workshops, build activity, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

This role offers the chance to apply emerging AI and automation capabilities in a practical way, helping clients adopt solutions that are valuable, secure, and sustainable.

Success in this role will include:

  • Develop solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, and Azure services
  • Integrate solutions with Microsoft 365, APIs, line-of-business systems, and data platforms
  • Apply good practice across testing, documentation, optimisation, support, and releases
  • Support discovery sessions, workshops, and solution reviews
  • Build in line with governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI standards
  • Troubleshoot issues, support live solutions, and identify enhancements
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, data specialists, and project teams

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Good understanding of testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and release practices
  • Awareness of governance, security, environment management, and compliance in enterprise delivery
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
