At Paired, we’re on a mission to help couples stay in love. So we created a fun, safe space for couples to explore their relationship and grow together. Backed by expert advice and research, our app delivers engaging questions, games, and quizzes that improve key relationship skills in 5 minutes a day.

Our app is the #1 couples app globally with more than 12M downloads, 250,000 daily active users, and £5M of fundraising to date. We’ve won multiple awards from Apple and Google, recognising us for our innovative approach to romantic relationship health.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer to join our Growth squad, a cross-functional team driving user acquisition, activation, and monetisation.

This is a hands-on, high-impact expert IC role. We’re looking for someone who can operate at a strategic level, has experience with rapid testing and iteration and can deliver exceptional craft. Reporting to our Head of Design, you’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Research to define and design growth initiatives that make Paired indispensable for couples.

From our users first interaction with Paired, through to them subscribing, you’ll shape high-impact journeys and craft designs that are not only delightful and intuitive but also commercially effective and scalable. You’ll have strong product thinking, thrive in ambiguity, and bring a human-centred approach to help uncover unmet needs of our users.

What You’ll Do

  • Design experiments and features that solve user problems and move business metrics.
  • Lead new growth ideas, and push established flows like free trials, paywalls past their current ceiling.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how our users think, feel and behave.
  • Collaborate on running research to quickly validate ideas and de-risk assumptions.
  • Craft journeys that feel human and deeply aligned with our mission.
  • Collaborate across teams, facilitate design alignment, and elevate company-wide design thinking.
  • Collaborate with other designers to shape the product as a whole.
  • Use Claude Code, Loveable and other AI tools to prototype, visualise future states and find new ways to solve problems.
  • Experience designing for consumer apps.
  • A portfolio showcasing successful product work loved by users.
  • A curious mindset, with the confidence to ask questions and constructively challenge others’ thinking.
  • You love speaking to users to understand needs, in order to solve problems as effectively as possible.
  • An expert in visual, UI & interaction design, with a refined grasp of micro-interactions and motion that create delightful, polished experiences.
  • Thrive in ambiguity and are full of ideas.
  • Comfortable analysing experiment data and using it to inform your next move.
  • A strategic mindset and can think beyond the current feature to where the product could be in 6/12/24 months.
  • Actively seek feedback and work collaboratively by default.
  • You’re curious about AI and already use it in your work.
  • Competitive salary of £90k–£95k, depending on experience
  • Significant stock options
  • Annual learning budget of £1,000
  • 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays
  • Hybrid, 2 days per week in our Shoreditch office
  • Two to three in-person events per year across Europe
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • 3 months paid maternity leave and 1 month paid paternity leave (including same-sex and adoptive parents), with local enhancements where applicable
  • Paired Premium for you and your partner to stay in love
  • The opportunity to help millions of people improve their relationships
