About Fable
Global enterprises work with Fable to make products more accessible for over one billion people who live with disabilities. Our customers include global leaders like Walmart, Slack, and Shopify. Fable was featured on the Forbes Accessibility 100 list in 2025, awarded Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in Design, and has received accolades from global entities like the World Summit Awards and the UN-endorsed Zero Project.
About the Role
Fable is looking for a Junior Researcher who is responsible for identifying accessibility and usability insights through user interviews. This role involves regularly engaging with people with disabilities and requires a candidate who is sensitive, respectful and has a strong desire to learn.
The Researcher will work closely with Fable team members to conduct research about how various digital product offerings can be improved for people with disabilities. An understanding of how various assistive technologies interact with digital products, and the web, is preferred.
The ideal candidate is excellent at independent problem-solving, is detail oriented and adaptable to the growth and changes of a dynamic work environment. Fable is a rapidly growing and busy team; the researcher must be flexible to the changing business needs of Fable.
We welcome applications from candidates located anywhere in Ontario, with preference given to those based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). If you feel you meet most of the qualifications outlined in this job description, we encourage you to apply!

- Analyze and synthesize research findings to generate actionable insights
- Provide clear and timely project updates to Fable team members
- Maintain internal customer documentation and track deliverables via our project management system
- Collaborate with other Fable support teams to coordinate interviews with participants
- 1+ years facilitating user interviews on digital products in a UXR context
- Able to define research goals, articulate hypotheses and apply the best research methods for a wide range of problems
- Experience translating research findings into thematic insights
- Compassionate and patient demeanour with confidence and assertion to get things done
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships and connect with people quickly
- Organized and able to manage a large volume of tasks independently
- Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate apps and software
- Strong analytical, communication and team skills
You must be
- Passionate to learn: Be interested and curious about assistive technology, accessibility and user research.
- Open-minded: Be open and personable with an understanding that the human spectrum is diverse.
- Problem-solver: If something goes wrong, you look for the next step to solve it and use judgement on who to collaborate with and escalate issues to.
- Creative and adaptable: You’ll jump in and flex your various skills whenever necessary. You’re looking for your newest challenge, ready to join a quickly evolving team
Nice to haves
- Experience with assistive technology or engaging with assistive technology users
