Integrated Portfolio Services (IPS) delivers investment performance, risk measurement reporting and analysis, compliance guideline monitoring, and private markets capabilities to our clients.
IPS services span multiple client segments including Corporate Pension Funds, Public Funds, Foundations and Endowments, Wealth Management, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and Investment Management.
IPS utilizes both proprietary and third-party vended applications to provide a comprehensive range of investment analytics, such as rates of return, attribution analysis, and guideline monitoring.
This supports the entire investment management process from planning to evaluation.
Your Role
Northern Trust's Front Office Solutions (FOS) platform provides a comprehensive, full-service, multi-asset platform designed to empower institutional investors and in-house investment teams.
The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of the platform's broader capabilities across both public and private markets, with focused expertise in private markets analytics and reporting.
The role requires a deep appreciation of how investment, operational, and data processes converge to deliver meaningful portfolio insights.
This includes understanding Northern Trust's private market and custody administration services, including capital call processing, distribution management, and underlying investment data capture, as well as how this information is transformed into actionable analytics and reporting.
In addition to FOS, Northern Trust leverages third-party analytical solutions for certain clients to enhance private markets performance measurement, benchmarking, and investment reporting.
The candidate will be expected to develop proficiency in these tools and the associated data ecosystems that support them.
Operating at the intersection of investment operations, data management, analytics, and client reporting, this role is responsible for translating complex multi-asset portfolio information into clear, insightful, and decision-useful investment reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and servicing existing clients, overseeing the delivery of investment reporting and analytics, and partnering with clients to develop solutions that address their evolving business and investment requirements. The role will also
- Contributing to business development efforts across the EMEA region, supporting opportunities with Asset Owners, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, and Global Family Offices.
- Working closely with Sales, Relationship Management, and Product teams to deliver solutions, system demonstrations, support client presentations, and engage in consultative discussions with prospective clients.
- Service delivery of important IPS clients, ensuring operational excellence and business alignment.
- Act as the primary contact for client engagements, offering expert guidance and resolving complex data queries.
- Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables in line with SLAs.
- Understanding the different and broader capabilities of the IPS Products and support cross-functional solutioning across different client segments.
- Leveraging expertise in private markets analytics concepts, DPI, TVPI etc and performance measurement including IRR vs TWR, PME’s, benchmarking, attribution, and accounting.
- Understanding the concepts for private market pacing and liquidity modelling and be able to talk to and demonstrate in system.
- Providing technical insight and analysis for internal and client-facing projects.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of new performance analytics products based on changing market or client needs.
- Participating in initial client discovery sessions; assists in project planning, setting client expectations, and facilitating continuous client updates throughout the onboarding process.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and collaborate with technology teams for automation.
The ideal candidate should have a fair amount of the following skills & experience:
- Demonstrated ability to articulate end-to-end capabilities, demonstrating how our technology, administration, data, and reporting solutions help clients gain greater transparency and insight into their investment portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members as we expand the support model to our APAC region; driving knowledge share to increase awareness and enhance knowledge.
- Client Consulting & Presentation Skills: Strong ability to engage with clients, understand business requirements, and deliver clear, insightful recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, modelling, and the effective use of Excel add-ins.
- Knowledge of Data Analytics Tools: Experience with Power BI and Alteryx is highly desirable, with the ability to transform data into meaningful insights and visualisations.
- Presentation Development skills: Advanced PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create professional, executive-level presentations and confidently deliver content to clients and senior stakeholder
