We currently have a vacancy for a Civil Technician who is looking to develop their career, working on a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK. This role will be based at either our Braintree or London office, and subject to business requirements may be eligible for hybrid working.

As a Civil Technician, you will support the delivery of civil engineering design services across a range of projects. Working closely with Engineers and senior colleagues, you will be responsible for producing technical drawings, models and design information, whilst ensuring compliance with relevant design standards and regulations.

Key Areas of Responsibility Will Include:

  • Produce technical drawings, layouts and design models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Assist with the preparation of drainage strategies, infrastructure layouts and levels designs.
  • Support the production of technical calculations, schedules and design documentation.
  • Prepare project drawings and information for planning, tender and construction issue.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys to gather information and support project delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with Civil Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions.
  • Maintain drawing records and ensure documentation is accurate, coordinated and up to date.
  • Degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience producing civil engineering drawings and design information within a consultancy or engineering environment.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, with Civil 3D experience desirable.
  • Understanding of infrastructure design, drainage layouts, highways design, and site levels.
  • Awareness of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and surface water management principles.
  • Ability to produce accurate technical drawings, schedules, and supporting design information.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Civil Engineers, Technicians, and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Willingness to develop technical skills and progress within the civil engineering profession.

This role requires you to have a full clean driving licence with access to your own vehicle, and will be subject to a DBS Enhanced check.

Holiday: 25 days (pro-rata’d) plus bank holidays.
